Coaches Corner
Cudas,
We did it! Not only did we make it through our first meet, we did it with a WIN! Congratulations to all of you for numerous time drops, record breaking races, qualifying times for invitationals, and most of all, doing your best. All of your hard work these past few weeks at practices have been paying off, and we are all so proud of you. I know it will continue throughout the season.
This week at practices, we will spend Monday and Tuesday working on stroke technique and drill work. On Wednesday we will focus on endurance work. Thursday we will run our usual “Meet Prep” focusing on diving, relays, starts, turns, and finishes.
A couple of reminders for this week:
Many of you have qualified for our mid season invitational, Splash Depot. It takes place on May 21st and entries are due by Monday, May 15th. I know it is very early in our season, but with broader span of qualifying times, many of you have qualified and may not even know it! Please make sure to sign up with invitationals@swimcuda.com. We want a large Cuda presence at every meet we attend!
Make sure to RSVP for the meet by Tuesday at 8pm. Please leave comments if you need to leave early, come late, etc.
Also, this Themed Practice Thursday, or #TPT is “Crush Cy Mills”: wear Hawaiian gear. Please make sure to come to practice dressed in Hawaiian attire to receive a small prize and get a group picture with your coaches!
Speaking of next week’s meet, this is our Rivalry Week! We are going up against the dreaded Cy Mills Makos! We need to make sure we work even harder this week at practice, so we can leave their pool on Saturday with a win. The past two seasons we have been victorious, let's keep our streak alive!
Cudas, as we prepare for our next week and the upcoming season, let’s remember what it means to be a Bridgeland Barrcuda. It means, not only doing and being your best inside the pool, but also being and doing your best outside of the pool as well. You all have a high reputation on your shoulders of being the best team in NWAL. Take pride in yourself and always strive to become better. Let’s remember to always be kind to other swimmers, both on our team and on opposing teams. Listen to coaches, parents and volunteers, and be the best Cuda you can be. You are all awesome and I am so honored to be your coach.
Thanks to all of our volunteers, parents, and board members, nothing would be possible without all of your hard work. You are truly appreciated.
If you have any comments, feedback, or concerns, please email me at coachjennie@swimcuda.com. I am looking forward to another wonderful week! And Finally, Happy Mother’s day!
GO CUDAS,
Stay safe and swim happy,
Coach Jennie
A huge thank you

Candy from your coaches
The Cuda Coaches want to see the swimmers after they swim each time at the meet!
When your Cuda gets out of the water after swimming in each event, have them go see the coaches. After giving them constructive feedback, the coaches will give your Cuda some candy!
This is a great time for your swimmer to ask about a DQ (disqualification) or to find out what to do better.
It doesn't matter if your Cuda is a 6 & under or an 18 year old, the coaches want to give them a high five and candy for their awesome swimming! Don't miss out!
Be sure to sign up for Splash depot
Theme practice thursday
If your swimmer comes to practice dressed for the theme, they get a prize! This week we will Crush the Cy-Mills Makos. Come dressed in Hawaiian gear this Thursday!
Take a picture of your Cuda swimmer wearing their TPT outfit and post it on Facebook. Make sure to include #CudasTPT2016 so we can find it and feature it in the Cuda Nation!
