David Zuniga, PhD, MDiv, and Sunni Zuniga, MA, will offer ideas and information about mindfulness in an informal workshop: its benefits and its practice for adults and children.

David Zuniga earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology and is a psychologist in the Integrative Medicine Department of MD Anderson Cancer Center. Previously, he earned a masters degree in comparative religion from Harvard Divinity School, was ordained in South Korea as a Zen Buddhist priest, and worked for over a decade as a Zen/interfaith chaplain in pediatric and adult end-of-life healthcare. He also holds a masters degree in English literature and is completing a book on Zen, mindfulness and end-of-life care for Wisdom Publications. Sunni Zuniga
Upper Elementary Lead - Kingwood Montessori

Sunni Zuniga is in her fifth year as a Montessori elementary teacher. Previously, she worked as a web developer and yoga instructor. She employs mindfulness-based strategies in the classroom. David and Sunni were noted speakers at the recent American Montessori Society conference in San Diego.
