C21 Annual Event
April 29- 30, 2014 8:30am-3:30pm with an Online Component
Coding in the Classroom
This year our Annual Event will showcase computer programming and coding. Participants will discuss the importance of teaching programming and computational thinking in K-12! You will get hands on time with some online programming applications (like SCRATCH), iPad apps and programmable robots that can be used for students from Kindergarten to 12!
Learn more about what this coding is all about and how you can bring this into your classroom and make connections to the Iowa Core! One of the resources we will dig into is http://code.org/ We are excited to have Matt Mena-Landry back to lead the event!
Registration is open, so head to the GWAEA PD Site soon because space is limited! You may take this course for credit!
Meet Your Lead Presenter
Matt had a brief stint here at GWAEA, where he brought his expertise and has a great depth of knowledge in integrating technology into the K-12 classroom!
We are changing things up a bit this year for our C21 Year 3 and moving toward an annual event open to C21 participants and other tech using educators (so bring a friend)!
GWAEA's 21st Century Learning Institute
This institute is intended to build knowledge of the Iowa Core Curriculum technology literacy skills while creating a collaborative community of learners. Participants of this institute apply innovative teaching practices. They also play leadership roles in technology integration efforts within their school and district.
