Homework
Homework will resume this week with Language Arts being nightly and Math being online. If you are unable to complete the online homework please let your student's teacher know so that a paper copy can be sent instead. Your student should still be filling out the reading log at the bottom of their ELA homework and practicing their spelling words on their own. There will be no spelling assignments given. The ELA homework should be about 10-15 minutes long. If your kiddo is struggling, have them stop and we will go over it in class together.
Urban Design Project- No More Bottles Needed
We are set to launch our Urban Planning and Design project in May. We were able to partner with the Recycling Center for bottles. We now have plenty of plastic water bottles for this project and will no longer be collecting them in our classrooms.
DATE CHANGE: Bike to School Day - Friday, May 6th
This Wednesday is National Bike to School Day! Due to weather we will have Bike to School day on Friday! CSA Lincoln will be participating. We will depart from Mill Race Park at 7:30 a.m. and will use the same drop-off location we used for Walk to School Day. While you do not have to ride with your student, we would love to have you and will need volunteers. Please email me findleyb@bcsc.k12.in.us if you are willing to ride along! We will have a police escort to cross Lindsey Street.
Here is a map of the drop-off location.
All students MUST be wearing a helmet to participate.
Wheels Friday
Bike to School Day is the perfect time to kick-off Wheels Fridays. Starting this Friday, students can bring their "wheels" to ride during recess. Regardless of what type of "wheels" they bring with them, all students MUST wear a helmet to participate. A portion of the playground will be sectioned off so students can participate. Students are encouraged to lock their wheels up at the bike rack as the school is not responsible for them. Finally, a way to enjoy all our blacktop playground!
