Longhorn Stampede

2018-19: Leading the Herd (1)

Big picture

Welcome Back, Longhorns!

Lone Star Families,
Please read all the way through to the end of this newsletter. It contains an exciting piece of information just for you!

We can't wait to see your smiling faces at Meet the Teacher this week! Remember that if you will be walking your child to class on the first day, you will want to drop your license off so we can run your V-soft sticker while you walk around. Pick up your tag on the way out, and you will be able to skip the long line on Day 1!

Walking your children back:
Any/Every Day - All parents may walk to the Hug&Kiss zone in the foyer, and children will continue past the hallway doors on their own (We always have staff in the hallways to help!)
Day 1 (August 21) - All grades; parents must have visitor sticker
Days 1-3 (August 21, 22, 23) PK and Kdg; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker
Days 1-5 (August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27) PK; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker

PK/K Students - No lunch visitors during Week 1, please

Thank you! This helps us ensure that staff attention is focused on children and safe protocols are in practice.

Meet Your Pre-K Teacher: Ms. Ellis, room 108

My name is Kim Ellis and I am not only proud but honored to be back in Montgomery this year. I have taught Kindergarten for the past 9 years and am soooo excited to teach Pre-K this year!

I have two daughters, Bailey and Grace, who are 17 and 13. There is a lot of laughter, dancing, and clothes sharing in our home. Bailey will be a junior this year and Grace will be in 7th grade. I can’t wait to share all of our funny stories with you. My girls are so funny and keep me on my toes daily.

We spend most of our time running to their activities. They are both involved in sports which is a full time job itself. My daughters love to eat out so if you see us at a local restaurant, please come say hello! If I have any time to myself I like to read, write, workout, take naps, and I love spending time with my friends.

I can’t wait to start this year with you and learn together!

Parents, please feel free to email a picture of your child and a few sentences about them to your child's teacher in response.
