Balto
Bolto was a member of a team racing to get medicine to Nome, Alaska. Gunner Kaasen was Balto's musher. Balto was the lead dog on the last team to reach the town of Nome.
"The Last Great Race" the Iditarod
The Iditarod is a 1,000 mile race from Anchorage, Alaska to Nome, Alaska. Teams are able to start with up to 16 dogs, but must have at least 5 dogs to finish the race. Huskies are the most common breed for the sled dog race.
Anna Berington
Anna was interested in dog sledding at an early age. Anna worked for a dog sled touring company. Running is a hobbie of hers.
Kristy Berington
Kristy is a member of the United States Navy. She says "as a musher, she wants to go farther and farther." She also enjoys running like her twin sister Anna.
Dallas Seavey
Dallas enjoys hunting. He is the winner of the 2012 Iditarod race, and was the youngest winner ever. Dallas' dad, Mitch won the Iditarod last year in 2013.
