BES Water Day
Light House Beach, Port Lavaca
A fun day in the sun and water!
We have a fun day of activities planned that includes the beach, pool, splash pad, pavilion games, food and much, much, more.
Students will follow a rotation between activities with their class and teacher. Parents and other siblings are welcome to come along. The activity areas are large enough for a big crowd. Due to the small size of the swimming pool, and the need to take a swimming test, only BES students are allowed to participate in the pool activity. Bloomington Elementary has paid the the use of the facility, so all activities are included for students and families.
Parents may check out their students at the main pavilion anytime during the day. If you want to stay at the beach longer, you may sign out your students at the end of the day.
Bloomington Elementary Water Day
Students will enjoy a fun, exciting, splashing water day as an end of the school year reward.

Uniform of the Day
Students may wear swim gear to school and bring dry clothes to change at the end of the day. This saves time when we arrive at the site. Boys must wear a t-shirt or swim shirt and girls must wear a t-shirt or a cover up to school and on the bus. Students may wear water shoes or flip flops to school on Water Day.
Don't Forget
Remember to bring a water bottle, a hat, flip flops, sun screen, and a towel. Students may bring drinks and snacks for the day. Please remember that students are responsible for managing all of their personal belongings throughout the day.
Travel Plan
Families are welcome to wait in the side parking lot and follow the school buses to the beach. We intend to leave the school around 8:30 am. Otherwise, you can meet us at the pavilion.
The City of Port Lavaca advertises that parking at the beach is $5. Last year, no one had to pay to park. Please be advised that it could go either way.
Lunch
School lunch (hot dogs, veggies, chips and water) will be provided for all BES students.
Parents and siblings will need to bring their own food and refreshments. Unfortunately, the city or the YMCA do not have food or drinks available for sale on the premises.
