Principal's Message
Dear Lincoln Families,
This is the last family newsletter for the 2021 - 2022 school year. I would first like to thank all of you. These past two years have been a significant challenge for all of us. Many of our faculty, staff and students continue to be impacted by COVID both physically and emotionally. I am deeply grateful for your patience, understanding, partnership, and support as we continue to navigate the challenges this pandemic has brought. It is my sincere hope that we are able to have a strong and healthy start to the 2022 - 2023 school year.
Tomorrow, June 14 we celebrate our graduating class of 2022 and twelve juniors who will graduate a whole year early! For those of you who plan to attend graduation, please plan for plenty of sunshine and limited parking. See below for more information regarding tomorrow’s graduation.
Library Books
All students must bring their library books, textbooks, calculators to the library today, June 13 or tomorrow, June 14. Students who are not planning to return to Lincoln next year must return their laptop. Students may go directly to the library
Know What You Owe: To find out what library books and resources you have currently checked out
Click on your school name.
Click on the Login button (top right).
Put your school ID in the User Name field, enter your password.
Click the Login button.
Under the My Info tab you will be able to see
if you have any library and/or textbooks and equipment checked out

Graduation Details:
Location: Vic Player Stadium
Students check in at 1:00 p.m. in the Old Gym
Parents and Guests may enter the stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m. Covered garage parking is available on a first come, first served basis.
Commencement begins at 2:00 p.m.
Each senior received 6 tickets for their family and guests. Seniors and their family may purchase additional tickets for $10 at our Finance Office. Remaining tickets will be available for sale at the ticket booth on the day of graduation.
Diploma Distribution will take place on June 14 immediately following the commencement ceremony and on June 15 from 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. in the drive through cul-de-sac off Wille James Jones. Students who borrowed a cap and gown must return it in order to get their diploma.
Class of 2023 is hosting a VIP Experience Fundraiser for this year’s graduation ceremony. VIP Experience costs $100 and includes:
4 Tickets
VIP Parking for One Car
VIP Shuttle for 4 people (ages 5+) to VIP Lounge
Reserved front row seats
Light refreshments in the VIP Lounge
We have 10 VIP packages available. Please contact Jiemy Abille at jabille@sandi.net in our Finance Office to purchase.

We will quickly clear campus in preparation for the Graduation Ceremony that will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Student IDs
Students are expected to have their student ID on them at all times. We started using a digital ID system through an app called Minga. Students who do not have a phone can identify themselves using their physical school ID. Please have your student see Ms. Mitchell in the Welcome Center if they are in need of a school ID.
Graduation Ceremony
Graduation will take place on Tuesday June 14 at 2:00 p.m. on Lincoln High School’s Football Field. Each student will be given 6 free tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased in the finance office or online for $10 using the following link https://sdusd.schoolcashonline.com/ Cap & gowns will be distributed the week before graduation.
Free PRONTO Bus Passes for all students under 18!
The city is piloting a program where any student can register for a FREE PRONTO BUS PASS! Here is the link. Please encourage your student to register and use one as this is a pilot program and will not continue if there is no demand.
Free YMCA Membership for Lincoln Students
Lincoln students can join the After School Teen Center at the Jackie Robinson YMCA through June 14 at NO COST. This opportunity includes a YMCA membership, free bus pass, STEM and Literacy activities and a snack. See flier for more information. Students must present a current Lincoln High School ID to enroll. Students may see Ms. Mitchell in the Welcome Center if they need an ID.
Course Requests for the 2022 - 2023 School Year
2022 Summer School
Summer school is a required remediation/recovery for students who earned a D/F grade. All students who earned a D/F grade have been automatically enrolled in Summer School and must plan to attend in order to meet graduation requirements.
Enrollment: Students should visit their counselor for guidance if they are unsure about their summer school status.
Enrollment Options:
In person: Lincoln HS will be hosting summer school on our campus.
Students can recover a maximum of 4 available courses
Session 1 (2 classes) June 21 - July 8
Session 2 (2 classes) July 11 - July 29

Lincoln HS Football Field
Each graduate will be given ticket numbers. The number of tickets each student will receive will be based on the current COVID Guidelines. Official tickets are required for entrance and will be given to graduates/families closer to the graduation date. Tickets Details to follow.

Parent Foundation
We are developing a partnership with the Lincoln High School Alumni Association to launch the Lincoln High School Family Foundation. The official launch of the LHS Family Foundation is scheduled to begin in the 2022 - 2023 School Year.
LHS Family Foundation will be composed of current and former parents and guardians of Lincoln High School Students. The goals of the LHS Family Foundation will be to:
Establish and maintain a set of bylaws for the LHS Family Foundation
Facilitate and enhance communication between families and the school
Work in partnership with LHS to provide parent education regarding college and career readiness and social issues that affect our students
Assist in fundraising for the school to provide school programs and capital items not paid for by the San Diego Unified School District
Develop a parent ambassador program

COVID Information from the School Nurse
This is our current process for sick students.
Students sick with any of these symptoms should stay home, or will be sent home from school:
☐ Fever with or no chills > 100.0F
☐ Cough*
☐ Shortness of breath
☐ Nasal congestion/Rhinorrhea (Runny Nose)*
☐ Sore Throat
☐ Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea*
☐ Fatigue*
☐ New Loss of Taste/Smell
☐ Headache*
☐ Muscle/Body Aches*
☐ Poor Feeding or Poor Appetite*
If your student has any of these symptoms, please isolate your student at home and follow these steps to return to school:
*If your student has a chronic pre-existing condition that causes these symptoms, your student may come to school if a “Certification of Chronic Medical Condition” form is on file. Due to these symptoms, please isolate your student at home and follow these steps:
• Your student may return 24 hours after symptoms are improving and no fever with a negative COVID-19 PCR-NAAT test (please note: Antigen and at-home tests are not allowed)
o You may send a copy of the result to your school health office mliwanag@sandi.net
• If you do not wish to get a COVID-19 test, your student must stay home for 10 days after their symptom(s) first began, if their symptoms are better and no fever for 24 hours before returning to school without fever reducing medications
• If your student’s symptoms are severe or are not improving after 24 hours, please contact your family doctor or 211 if you do not have a doctor for follow-up and care
• Please send your student to the health office when returning to campus after being out.
• If your student tested positive in the last 90 days and again has new symptoms at this time, please call your family doctor and ask what to do next. Your student may return to school 10 days after their new symptoms started, or when your doctor says it is ok to return.

DISTRICT MESSAGE ABOUT ATHLETIC PHYSICALS
2021-22 athletic physical packets have officially been posted to www.athleticclearance.com as of Tuesday, June 1, 2021. The San Diego Unified School District is offering a one year grace period where the physicals for the 2021-22 school year are acceptable one year from their date of clearance; however in the 2022-23 school year, all physicals will need to be completed after June 1st to be covered for the entirety of the 2022-23 school year

MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports)
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Team at Lincoln provides proactive academic, social-emotional and behavioral strategies for students with various needs.
You can assist students in receiving the supports they need to be successful by emailing their counselor for academic support or refer students using the Intervention Referral Form on the counseling website for social-emotion and basic needs.
Reasons to Complete the Intervention Referral Form:
-If a student is struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self harm or any other mental health issues
- If a student is going without basic needs (housing, food, hygiene products, clothing, etc.)
- If a student has a general health issues (vision, sick visit, hearing, etc.)
Nursing & Wellness
Sick and symptomatic students must not come to school. Please contact the School Nurse if your student has a chronic condition she needs to be aware of. Please contact the School Nurse Ms.Bree Williamson at bwright3@sandi.net or at (619) 266-6500 ext. 3050 or the Health Technician Ms. Deen Liwanag at mliwanag@sandi.net or at (619) 266-6500 ext. 2137. Please contact our attendance office and report your student’s absence if he/she/they are unable to attend classes in person or on-line.
Testing Information for Students
All families are now required to make a choice on Covid testing at the start of the new school year. Every family must complete the below form and submit their response online at this time. Free Covid testing in school not only helps prevent the spread of the virus, but it also helps more students stay in school and continue their education.
To opt-in for testing for your child, please complete the COVID-19 Testing Acknowledgement Form on PowerSchool. Please Note: A PowerSchool Username and Password will be required to complete this form. If you do not have the Access ID and Password for your student, please contact Ms. Jarvis at ejarvis@sandi.net to obtain this information.
