Internet Find of the Week - January 16, 2014


Over the past year or two, I've shared lots of TED videos with you. Last year, the good people at TED introduced TED-ed. They are still in the business of sharing ideas, but with TED-ed they are more focused on what you do -- teaching.

TED-ed asked educators to submit lessons. From those lessons, TED paired up educators with illustrators and graphic design artists and created profesisonal video lessons. Most lessons have accompanying questions and links for further study. Here's a TED-ed lesson on insults used by Shakespeare - click here.

I'm pretty confident that there is at least one student in your class who is dyslexic. Have you ever wondered, what exactly is dyslexia? Recently, I ran across a video that gives a very succinct explaination of dyslexia. I thought it was worth sharing with you.

Would you ever get into a ball pit with a stranger? If you're like me your answer was an emphatic, no. But, what if you did? Those funny people at SoulPancake built a ball pit and invited strangers to sit in it. Watch the video -- I know you're curious.
