The Golden Age
The Golden Age is a time in Greece where for an extended amount of time there was peace and prosperity. The Golden Age of Greece, or the Classical Period, was about 500 to 300 BC. The two well known city-states of this period were Athens and Sparta. Also, Greece had great success in art, architecture, government, poetry, and literature during this time.
Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great was born on July 20th, 356 BC. He united Greece together and expanded the empire. He conquered Greece, Asia Minor, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India.
Homer
Homer was a famous Greek poet. He was born, and died in the 8th century, BC.
Pericles
Pericles was the most prominent and influential Greek statesman and general of Athens during the Golden Age—specifically, the time between the Persian and Peloponnesian wars. He was born in 495 BC. And died in 492 BC.
