Five Little Ducks
Over the hills and far away
Mother Duck said "quack, quack, quack"
And four of the five little duckies came back.
Four little ducks went out one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother Duck said "quack, quack, quack"
And three of the five little duckies came back.
Three little ducks went out one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother Duck said "quack, quack, quack"
And two of the five little duckies came back.
Two little ducks went out one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother Duck said "quack, quack, quack"
And one of the five little duckies came back.
One little duck went out one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother Duck said "quack, quack, quack"
And none of the five little duckies came back.
Old Mother Duck went out one day
Over the hills and far away
Mother Duck said "quack, quack, quack"
And all of the five little duckies came back.
Build Skills Every Day
Little interactions every day can add up to a BIG foundation for learning.
- Talk: Take a walk outside and talk with the child or children in your life about all the things you see on your walk. Take the time to listen to what they see on the walk.
- Sing: Anytime is good time to sing! Sing in the car, during bath time, on walks, and before bed. Not only does the singing help kids hear the parts of words which is a key early literacy skill, but research also indicates it is good for the singer!
- Read: Make reading fun! Sing a book. Ask your child open ended questions as you read.
- Write: Coloring and drawing are important pre-writing skills. Put out some crayons and paper so your child can create!
- Play: Make time to play with your child.
