Welcome back!!!! I hope everyone enjoyed the break! Please click on this link to see the revised master schedule, staff phone roster, and staff supervision schedules with updates. Welcome to Ms. Sweet (6th grade), Ms. Porter (4th grade), and Ms. Griffin (3rd grade)!!! Also, welcome Ms. Fosnow (the former Ms. Cope) to her new role as our Culture and Climate Specialist!!!
I have completed the third quarter instructional snapshots. Click this link to see them. Remember our instructional vision: Providing RIGOROUS instruction to intentionally meet DATA-DRIVEN student needs. We will be dissecting a lot of student data this quarter to assist our students in achieving mastery in ELA and Math. Be prepared to bring samples of your student data tracking forms as well as class data to each PLC. It is expected for you to know where your students are and the goals for them to achieve!!!
Guided Reading should be in full implementation and students should be engaged in books with you at the teacher table!!! Many of us have seen the effectiveness of this practice when implemented with fidelity, but we need to make sure students are in texts learning the skills of decoding and comprehension. This applies to reading instruction....students need to be learning the skills within the
Grades 3-6...please click this link to review the assessment schedule for the coming week. The SRI window begins this week and I would like to complete this testing on Wednesday. We also have a Quarter 3 Pre-test for ELA and Math to complete this week. Grades K-2....we will discuss the schedule for completing DIBELS MOY Testing at our PLC's this week.
It is expected you will review your classroom rules, our schoolwide rules, and expectations this week! As our students have not been in the building for close to 17 days, this needs to be retaught EXPLICITLY. Be CLEAR in your teaching....your students will rise to the expectations you set in your classroom.
Speaking of discipline, Ms. Fosnow (formerly Cope) will be transitioning into her new role as the Culture and Climate specialist and will be overseeing the implementation of PBIS, including handling of discipline referrals. As a reminder, students are not be sent out of the room without administrator approval. If a student needs to be removed from the classroom because of a major behavioral violation, please contact Ms. Fox (300), Ms. Fosnow (302), or Wirth (303). If none of us are answering a phone, send a responsible student to the office. Please click this link to review the behavior violation flow chart. Also, Mr. Taylor will now be in the old distance learning room, with the mobile computer lab moving to Room 209.
