Transformed
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
~Romans 12:2
Principal's Corner
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2
Almost everywhere in Orange County, the last few weeks, you can see snow on the local hills and mountains…a very rare occurrence! The majesty of our God is evident in this beautiful display! Some of you may have even enjoyed a “snow day” with your family and friends recently.
Where do you go for help when you need it; what do children witness in this regard? If you have a flat tire, you call AAA. If you have a clogged drain, you call a plumber (or maybe your husband!). Where do we go for help when our world seems to be falling apart? Who is the expert in matters of life? The Psalmist makes it very clear when he says, “(Our) help comes from the Lord!” There is never a time when we are outside the loving care of our Heavenly Father. We never face our trials and temptations alone. He stands guard over our lives. He is our keeper, our Hope! He does not slumber nor sleep. He preserves our souls. His love is unconditional. God has promised victory and blessing to all who trust Him with their lives. It is a matter of urgency, then, that we live our lives in this refreshing knowledge! It is a matter of urgency that we share this HOPE and PROMISE with our children, friends, and neighbors! Let’s clearly demonstrate to everyone around us, and be reminded again when we see those snow-covered hills and mountains in our view today…where does our help come from? “Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
This March newsletter is full of fun and exciting information about all aspects of the church and school ministry here at Red Hill Lutheran. February Philanthropy Report
His Little Feet was encouraged by the hospitality and generosity of the people in our school who opened their hearts and lives to the choir children and staff. His Little Feet wrote, "We thank God for the way He has worked in and through your school, and you all are in our prayers, as you press on to 'defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.'" (Psalm 82:3)
Praise God for how our school responded:
- The love offering given to the ministry of His Little Feet totaled $4,012.
- There was interest expressed in going on a mission trip.
- There were 5 children sponsored through Compassion International.
- The chapel offering for the month of February totaled $925.13.
Thank you all... We can't wait for HLF to be back next year!
Kids Heart Challenge
Heart Hero at Red Hill:
Red Hill Lutheran participated in Kids Heart Challenge this past month, where kids practiced jumping rope during PE, learned about the importance of taking care of their heart, and also raised lifesaving donations to help others affected by heart diseases and stroke. Our school has raised over $3,200!
Kindergartner, Rhett, from Mrs. Glenane's class was the TOP heart hero on campus- he raised $450 to help!
Thanks so much for your support and generosity!

Ash Wednesday
Dear Families of Red Hill Lutheran School,
On Wednesday, March 6th, the sacred season of Lent begins with the day known as, “Ash Wednesday.” The word Lent comes from the Middle English word, “Lente,” meaning “spring time” and is a forty-day period of spiritual reflection and renewal for a follower of Jesus Christ.
Ash Wednesday comes from the ancient practice of placing ashes on the forehead in the shape of a cross. The ashes symbolize our humility before God and the recognition that we are God’s creation—not the creator! Traditionally, the ashes reflect our sorrow for sin and dependence upon God, as we confess our sins and attitudes that keep us alienated from God, as well as from the life that we are meant to live for God while on this earth. Finally, the ashes literally “mark” our foreheads with the cross as a sign that during the season of Lent, we will resolutely set our minds (the forehead is a biblical symbol of the mind/thinking) on Jesus and the life that Jesus wants us to live.
During our all-school Chapel service on Ash Wednesday, in addition to our regular worship and music, the students are invited to come forward as a class to the altar and, if they choose, to receive the ashes or to receive a general blessing. As the ashes are administered, the student is told, “Remember that God loves you!” You are welcome to join us for this special Chapel service that begins at 9:15 am.
As you have likely heard me say before, allow me to say again, “If you do not have a church home, I invite you to join us on Sundays (8:30 am Classical; 10:00 am Contemporary) at Red Hill!”
This year’s Lenten message series is entitled, “A Promising God: God’s Covenants in Scripture.” Throughout Scripture, God made promises to His people in the form of covenants; a mutual commitment to love and care for His people, as well as God’s desire that His people love and trust Him. We will examine the historical context of each respective covenant, their interrelationships, and their ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. I hope you can be with us!
You and your family will be in our prayers. If we can assist you in any way, please call upon us!
May our Lord bless, guide, and deepen your faith this Lenten season.
In Christ,
Pastor Seth Britton
