FAC Weekly Update

January 24, 2020

Good afternoon, Fine Arts Center Family

I hope that you had a wonderful week. We have a big weekend ahead, as we are wrapping up auditions for our prospective new students AND hosting the first annual FAC SnowBall!

Congratulations to the students of the Chamber Strings studio for their wonderful concert performance last night! Be sure to keep an eye on the UPCOMING EVENTS section of the Weekly Update, and please spread the word far and wide about our student performances.

Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...

This Week's Student Leadership Lesson

“Don’t focus on the past, and don’t look to the future…Focus on the NOW. Success, rewards, accolades, fame, and fortune are merely by-products for those who are able to seize the moment – not those who look beyond it.”

- Jon Gordon and Daniel Decker, STAY POSITIVE, page 16

Student Accolades

Ellie Dripps (Grade 9, Dance) has been selected for the prestigious "Swiss Semester" program, granting her the opportunity to study next Fall in Zermatt, Switzerland. Congratulations to Ellie on this wonderful honor!

Students - What are YOU doing this summer?

For students at Arts High Schools across the nation, the summer break offers many opportunities to take their artistic abilities to new levels through attendance at Summer Intensive programs. FAC students in grades 9, 10, and 11 should speak to their studio instructor regarding opportunities at local and national training institutes. Because of the large number of offerings that are now available to high school students, they can still have a summer vacation/work a day job for a portion of the summer AND attend a Summer Intensive Program.

Need-based financial support may be available to students who qualify. Students should get moving on this opportunity ASAP!
