Welcome Back!
Welcome, Mr. Pritchard!
Hi Everyone!
I am Mr. Pritchard and I will be joining the Mayfield Team this year as the new school counselor for grades 8, 10, and 12!
I studied Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Political Science at Siena College before graduating in 2016. I have worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA Fellow with the Albany County District Attorney's Office for a year before joining Mediation Matters as Youth Program Coordinator. Mediation Matters is a non-profit, Community Dispute Resolution Center and allowed me to partner with schools, probation departments, and the greater community to offer dispute resolution and communication training to people of all backgrounds. During this time I also earned my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Sage Graduate School and joined Mayfield in the Summer of 2020. I am confident that these experiences will help me assist in the educational challenges students and families are facing today.
I know that now, more than ever, their are stressors in and out of school that are making life challenging for everyone. As your school counselor I look forward to getting to meet students and families to help you on your path to a successful, happy, and healthy life.
Please email me at pritchard.graham@mayfieldcsd.org, stop into my office, or call (518) 661 - 8215 to connect. Thank you for all being so welcoming and I look forward to working with you! - Mr. Pritchard

Upcoming Virtual College & Career Fairs
We are excited to share with you information about the Fall 2020 College & Career Series, hosted by CASDA. During this two month event, students and parents will have access to college representatives (similar to in person fairs); however, these fairs will be held via Zoom during the evenings. This series will run from September 15, 2020 through November 20, 2020. Students and parents may register here for the specific fair they are interested in. Each fair is specific to an individual college or career and will last one hour in length with time for questions. Additionally, students are being given direct access to view the college and career spotlight, which gives direct access to representatives and basic information about a college or career. Be sure to check out these two great resources right at your finger tips!
SUNY Virtual College Fairs
Interested in attending a SUNY College? Register for one of their virtual college fairs to meet representatives from SUNY schools across the state! More information and registration information located here

College representatives are making appointments to schedule virtual visits with our students. A calendar will posted next month!
Attendance For The 2020-2021 School Year
For the 100% Remote Students:
Attendance will be taken for each class every weekday. To be considered present and having participated daily, there will be a brief Google Form that students will be required to complete.
Absences will be handled the same as in-person learning — teachers will call parents after two consecutive unexcused absences. If a student is not feeling well and cannot do their schoolwork for the day, their parent/guardian should call the office to report the absence from online classes.
For the Hybrid Gold/Blue Group Students:
Attendance will be taken for each class every weekday. When learning remotely, to be considered present, students will have to log in to the Google Classroom for each of their classes between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. and follow their teachers’ instructions for reporting attendance. For in-person learning, teachers will take attendance in each class as usual.
Teachers will communicate with students during the first week of school how to mark themselves present when learning remotely.

Resiliency
We will be pushing into classrooms and working one-on-one with our students to help them build this trait. It will certainly help them as education changes during this pandemic, but also to achieve success in their life in the years to come.
