Principal's Message
What an exciting time of year! School starts tomorrow and it's going to be great.
Due to traffic and construction, I want to give you some information that you probably already know, but it's good to have anyway. Following these procedures will help everyone ensure a smooth transition during this time.
Drop off/Pick up - Drop off and pick up will only occur in the southwest parking lot across from the front of the high school. There are traffic lanes here to ensure a smooth transition. Please pull all the way up before dropping off in order to maximize time. Staff will be available to facilitate this process.
Bus drop off/pick up - Bus drop off and pick up will only occur in the lane north of the athletics/fine arts center, on 2nd street. Please don't plan on dropping off or picking up here.
Student parking - Student parking is located in two black lots on the EAST of the school and two gravel lots on the WEST of the school. Overflow parking will be in the concrete lot across from the fine arts/athletics complex. Please do not park on campus without a tag. Please do not park on the streets or in non-student parking. Athletes are encouraged to park in the gravel and concrete lots, and Ag/band students are encouraged to park in the asphalt lots. Once you park, you need to stay...do not plan on driving from class to class.
Teacher parking is located at the front of the high school and behind the fine arts/athletic complex.
Lunch - campus is open to lunch. I would encourage you to plan on eating on campus as much as possible until construction is through...but if you're going to leave campus please be wary of construction and be mindful of tardies that can quickly get racked up due to running behind. Students eating on campus will eat in the cafeteria or court yard, students who are going off campus must leave.
Schedules - please report to the high school foyer when you arrive in the morning to pick up a schedule. The doors will open at 7:30.
Pre-registration - If you have not pre-registered you will not have a schedule. Please make sure you take care of this prior to your arrival.
Schedule requests/changes - When you receive your schedule, you will be expected to follow that schedule for the remainder of the day. Please submit a schedule request form to the office and your schedule will be changed with approval. We are only allowing schedule requests for the first 5 days of school so please get them in soon.
There's plenty to swallow on the first day so I hope this has been helpful. Progress is painful but when it's done, it'll be great! Be positive and flexible because #togetherisbetter!
