Please read over the "Dates to Remember" section carefully this week AND if you know you will be missing school between now and the 18th, email me.
The end of the semester is Dec. 18th and grades will be due upon return.
- Cold tolerance and appropriate dress/shoes: We will go outside if the temp or wind chill is 35 or higher. We'll use National Weather Service as our guide.

What We're Studying and Learning...
Reading: We are still working on making inferences and using evidence to support our ideas. We're also working on reading concepts learned through the use of menus. We have begun book groups and the Reading Pirates, Book Zombies, and Greedy Thinkers are excited!
Writing: We are looking at procedural text (How To's) again this week. Everyone is using a rubric and their writing partner to ready a piece of writing for publication.
Grammar/Spelling/Handwriting: There is spelling homework this week! Grammar and handwriting continue as usual. We are using our knowledge about nouns, verbs, and adjectives in our writing.
Math: We are in our second week of fractions. This week we're looking at equivalent fractions, we're adding fractions with the same denominator, and we're working with fractions on number lines.
Social Studies/Science: We are continuing our study of landforms.
