PSJA BRIGHT Summer Reader: 25 Years of Enchanted Reading
The top 3 readers: J. Alamilla, K. Iturrubiates, & D. Fernandez represented Liberty MS at the Pharr Event Center at the PSJA 25th Annual Bright Summer Reader: 25 Years of Enchanted Reading. Mrs. Villarreal, our 6th grade assistant principal and Ms. Sanchez, the librarian, joined the celebration with refreshments and entertainment.

Liberty BRIGHT Summer Reader Breakfast
The students at Liberty MS were recognized for being part of the BRIGHT Summer Reader with a special breakfast with Principal Carrillo. They invited their parents to join them on this 25th Year of Enchanted Reading celebration. The students also received a certificate and a book for their libraries at home.

Ms. Solorsano & Ms. Saldana from the Pharr Memorial Library came to visit Liberty Middle School to distribute library cards on Wednesday, Sept. 25th. Over 91 students received a library card from the Pharr Memorial Library that day.

Students enjoy arranging tile pieces to on-screen shapes. Playing tangrams helps exercise vision and special problem-solving skills. This game has over 500 forms: animals, humans, numbers, etc...
Celebrating The Efforts of America's First Responders
Liberty Middle School invites first responders & over 25 accepted the invitation. America's first responders were recognized for their difficult and dangerous work and life-long sacrifices. They celebrated with tamales, tacos, pan dulce, and live entertainment.

PSJA Reading Laureate Program: The "You" of Reading!
This year, PSJA will proudly continue the "PSJA Reading Laureate Program." It's all about the students reading: The "You" of Reading! A true Literary Scholar. This reading club promotes student reading and learning. The students read a million words & AR test with a 90% or better. Please come by the library for more details.

Million Father March
It was the 7th annual Million Father March at PSJA ISD. This movement was created so that fathers would pledge to get involved with their child's success. Fathers are great mentors and can assist in their child's education throughout the school year.

Students interested in becoming a competitor of the Liberty M.S. Battling Team are required to read 5 books from the PSJA Middle School Battle of the Books List. Students must AR test and get an 80% or better. Come by the library for more details.
