-Crystal Lynch is such a warm and fun person to talk to! She contributes to class even when others are less interactive and laughs at my silly teacher jokes. I very much appreciate her open friendly personality! -Ms. Kiecker

-Casey Ward consistently is enthusiastic about learning and is a positive leader in German. Recently, she volunteered to put together a presentation about the German trip. The presentation was very detailed, and she told great stories about what they learned. -Mrs. Roschen

-Nicole Vogel has worked so hard this semester and continues to push herself. I have seen her self advocacy skills come forward and it is really paying off! You got this girl! -Ms. Kiecker
-Ella Briggs is always willing to let her peers in class work with her even when they might not understand the material. Ella is willing to go above and beyond to help teach her classmates. -Ms. Aarsvold
-Kayleigh Hoppman is an incredibly intelligent and direct person. She has been very responsible to maintain her class work and assist with younger band student groups when asked. I very much enjoy her spirit! -Ms. Kiecker
-Eli Flattum does a great job participating in class and is always willing to help set-up/take down equipment as well. -Mr. Johnson
-For to HOSA for all of their hard work planning fun activities last week! The Kahoot was the highlight of my week! -Ms. Kiecker

-Caden Osterberg is my quiet smart guy in class. He flies under the radar but has definitely stood out to me as working hard and being knowledgeable of many of the topics in class before I teach them. I recognize and appreciate your work ethic. -Ms. Kiecker

-Jason Neuffer and Gabriella Bungum: They are both great students in the German College in the Schools class. Recently, the video they created received the honor of being awarded best overall for "Technical Merit." This is an amazing accomplishment, as they competed against many other videos across the state in the German College in the Schools program. -Mrs. Roschen

-I would like to recognize Kathy Tazin for being such an amazing student. Kathy works very hard on her assignments and always tries her best. Kathy is also very kind to others. She's a joy to have in class! -Mrs. Shannon

-Having Patrick Hines all these years as a student I can say he is so fun to have in class. He brings humor and hard work to the table. Best of all he handles my teacher quirks with such ease and calmness. I have so appreciated his personality in class! -M. Kiecker
-Ziara Martin: Z works hard and really seems to enjoy everything we are doing in class. She shares great personal experiences and brings a fun energy to each conversation. Keep bringing that energy! -Ms. Kiecker
-Jake Meacham is responsible, incredibly helpful to everyone and always remains positive. He has become the cool calm and collected one I can rely on even when the rest of the group brings in a lot of energy. I greatly appreciate his help fixing my classroom stool as well! Red Wing High School Social Studies teacher Scott Bender is retiring this spring after 30 years of teaching! In those years, he
's accumulated a multitude of colorful and festive ties. More than 70!
Every school day for the rest of the year, Mr. Bender will post a picture of the tie to be auctioned. The person with the highest bid at the end of the day will WIN the tie!
ALL proceeds from this auction will be split equally between two new scholarships at RWHS in memory of Sammi Kriese who was killed in an auto accident the week after she graduated last year and Jana Langhans who died the day before school started this year.
Tuesdays and Thursday: Winger Study
ALL students are invited and welcomed to attend to get extra work time and support in their studies. Students do not need an appointment to attend but are encouraged to communicate with their teachers if they need materials, help or tests to work on during this time. All students will need to have their own transportation home from Winger Study.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:50pm-4:45pm
7 and 8th Grade in Lower H pod: Simmons
Language arts and Social studies in Lower J pod:
Math and Science in Upper H pod: Robert
Other subject areas can be addressed in all areas as well.
IMC due dates
Library Books:
All library materials checked out that are part of the library collection and also that were ordered through SELCO have the following due dates for the end of the year. This is dictated by SELCO and we can not change these dates. You can also return the books to the Red WIng Public Library at 225 East Ave.
Monday, May 2--last day for holds (books that are requested from other libraries).
Friday, May 20--Final due date for all books that have barcodes similar to those in the picture all beginning with 01073########.
Curriculum textbooks and novels:
Wednesday, May 25th Curriculum and class sets of novels are due back unless you need them for your coursework. You may bring back materials you do not need anytime and do not need to wait until the due date. Barcodes begin with 02562######.
Starting Thursday, May 26 we will be asking classes to start returning materials that have not been returned. A schedule of this will be coming out in May.
WINGER RUN!
We will have our First Annual Winger Run on Sunday, May 15, at 1:00pm!!! It is a 5K and will be held on the high school cross country course. You may choose to walk if you prefer, and if you only want to complete part of the course, that is fine, too!
This will be a great event, with proceeds going to the Hope Coalition and Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. So come and have fun with your friends while getting splashed with color and raising money for a great cause! Open to all ages and to our whole community!
Cost is $20. That includes a t-shirt, registration fees, and the color.
Just click on the first link below to order your t-shirt and register. The order must be placed by May 1st at 11:59pm. You may register the day of the race, but t-shirt supplies will be limited if you don't register ahead of time. Click on the second link for the statement of release form, which is required to participate. You can print it and fill it out in advance, or there will be blank copies the day of the event.
