Principal's Message
Dear Henry Ford Families,
Last Tuesday I informed my staff that I had been offered a District-level position effective next school year. Information was sent out that same evening explaining the process that will take place to find my replacement. It is with mixed emotions that I leave the Principalship for a Directorship at the District level. I love serving students, the faculty, and the staff that help support them. Being at the school site, at the heart of teaching and inspiring minds, the future leaders of tomorrow, is an awesome experience. It brings me joy and excitement to come to work every day. There is nothing nicer than being greeted by students in the morning, and being asked curious and insightful questions. It's an honor when I enter a classroom and a student has the confidence to call me over to assist them with a problem or an assignment that they are working on.
I want to express my appreciation for those of you who have sent me congratulatory messages and well wishes. As I've shared with several of you, I will definitely miss the students most of all. But I welcome this new challenge and opportunity to serve all students and their families. I'm sure I will be involved whether directly or indirectly in helping Henry Ford School in the future. Be assured that I will be able to work closely with the new School principal in order to have a smooth transition. We anticipate the new principal to be announced prior to the end of the school year or shortly afterwards. More information will be forthcoming.
In the meantime, we have much work to do as we prepare for the end of the school year. Next week we will share our assessment plan scheduled for May for all students. Additionally, we are preparing for the opening of school on August 18, 2021. We have new teachers joining our team and a few teachers being reassigned. We anticipate a regular start to the school year similar to prior to the pandemic. However, we know there will be many safety protocols that will remain in place. As further information is forthcoming, we will pass it on.
On another note, I hope everyone is excited about the start of our Spring Fundraiser. We have an exciting auction with extraordinary items. The PTA has shared with me a sneak preview of the fundraiser items! Go to this link charityauction.bid/HF2021 to see all of the fabulous items and experiences donated from our wonderful community of businesses and families. The auction goes LIVE this Friday, April 30, at 5pm! At that time you’ll be able to bid in the Auction, buy raffle tickets for the chance to win the many themed Class Baskets, and buy tickets for our first ever Wine Wall. Check it out, and share the link with your family and friends. Anyone can win!
Good luck, and enjoy!
