Medal of Honor Week at GISD
Thursday morning-GHS ambassador tours
The GHS Medal of Honor ambassadors welcomed the special guests to the high school on Thursday morning. After a welcome and meet and greet, the ambassadors took their recipients to classrooms where the MOH guests shared their stories with our students. Pictured above is GHS Principal Melissa Hutchison with the MOH recipients.
Thursday afternoon-Lee Intermediate MOH assembly
Lee Intermediate was the lucky campus to host the Medal of Honor recipients on Thursday afternoon. The students and staff prepared a phenomenal program for everyone to enjoy, paying tribute to the service these brave men show our country. The students were the BEST crowd we could have asked for, showing tremendous respect for the honorees. Good job Lee Intermediate!
Friday morning-Chalmers 4th graders attend tree dedication
Students in 4th grade at Chalmers completed a Medal of Honor project leading up to this week's events. Each student learned about one of the individual recipients and after the projects were shared, students with exceptional letters to their recipient were able to come to today's tree dedication ceremony, meet their recipient, and deliver their handwritten letter. The smiles on these students' faces was priceless! What a fantastic opportunity for all of our GISD students this week!
