December 1, 2016 - Career Pathways Workshop

Do you need ways to organize high school coursework, CCP courses, technical courses and professional skills to academic and career pathways? Attend this work session to see examples of how other districts are creating visuals and tools for students and parents. Participants will discuss ways to make community connections to support pathways.

December 6, 2016 - Initial Cluster Training- Session 3 (8:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

Assessing & Grading in a Differentiated Classroom

Attend session 3 of Initial Cluster Training to:

  • Determine how to incorporate assessment throughout the entire instructional process using practical assessment strategies that save time and provide valuable student data.
  • Learn about management approaches which support a differentiated classroom.
  • Use available student data to personalize instruction.

December 5, 2016- I.E.P. Secondary Transition Planning

Intervention Specialists and Administrators, attend this session to learn more about transition planning and the role the I.E.P. plays in supporting career advising for students with disabilities. This training was also offered on November 9, 2016 . Region 12 SST will be leading this professional learning.

December 7, 2016 - School Counselor's Forum (11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

The School Counselor Forum will be held at Muskingum University in Caldwell Hall - Room 300. Agenda items include:


  1. Thinking outside the box. Do high school visits from admission's reps still make sense? What could we all do better/differently?
  2. How to turn what we are already doing in our schools into effective goals for the new counselor evaluations.
  3. College Night planning

December 7, 2016 - Science Tool Kit Grade 3 with Linda Rogness (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

Come and learn innovative and inquiry-based science lessons that have been student-tested! These cross-curricular lessons involve students in those simple, fun activities that teach students science concepts. As students engage in the activities, they’ll learn to record in science journals with pictures, words and sentences. Attend this session for a fun way to teach science!

December 8, 2016 - Eureka Math Follow-up and Networking Grades 3-5 (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) (POSTPONED)

Are you using Eureka Math as a core curriculum or as a supplemental resource?

Attend this session to enhance your understanding of the best use of the Eureka Math curriculum. Sit down and exchange ideas about modules and activities with colleagues and dive deeper into the Eureka Math curriculum.

December 13, 2016 - Resident Educator Coordinator Task Force (4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

Join this group of Resident Educator Coordinators and Lead Mentors to discuss, share and reflect on district Resident Educator programs. Keep up to date on current state information and design district collaborative efforts to meet the needs of Resident Educators and Mentors.

December 16, 2016 - Gifted Advocate Meeting (8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

Do you have a passion for gifted students? If so, the quarterly meeting for gifted advocates from our member districts will be held on Friday, December 16, 8:30-3:00 in the Coshocton Room. Gifted intervention specialists, administrators with gifted responsibilities, and other district personnel will meet to discuss current trends in gifted education and share instructional strategies and materials. Updated state gifted operating standards have been voted out of Achievement Committee, so it is anticipated that the full state board may act upon them at their December meeting. The standards will provide guidance to districts as they evaluate and modify gifted identification and programming. Please contact Susan Larson, Gifted Education Coordinator, with questions. Join this collaborative of Curriculum Directors to discuss, share, and reflect on current educational practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment. Explore leadership topics and gain ideas from other district leaders!

December 20, 2016 - Learning for Leadership Series-Session 4: Coaching/Mentoring (8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)

Attend session 4 of the Learning for Leadership Series to examine the element of Coaching/Mentoring. Participants will learn strategies for strengthening coaching. Topics include: Teacher Reflective Tendencies, Classroom Instructional Practices at each level, Differentiated Coaching Strategies, Transformational Feedback and Leadership Roles. Examine the critical elements of coaching success (Commitment to process, mutual trust, and clear, measurable goals connected to teacher and student growth.)
