October 9th Professional Learning Day- ACTION REQUIRED
Meaningful professional learning ignites inspiration and passion.
On October 9, 2015, during our campus professional learning day, we will facilitate educator conversations centered on topics that engage and inspire us the most. Professional learning should not be done to you; professional learning is done because of you. You and your team have submitted conversation topics for the upcoming professional learning day. You must sign-up for your lesson no later than Tuesday, October6, 2015. See the resources below:
Teacher Clubs
Below is a link to the form for you to sign up for one of our many offerings for a club. The list was made up from the responses from last week’s survey. The first club meeting will be next Friday during the PL Day. You need to sign up for a club even if you will not be on campus that day.
The dead line for your selection is Monday, October 5th at 4:00pm.
Mike's Mind
CHS Family,
As we wrap up the first six weeks I would like to offer a huge “THANK YOU” for your hard work related to ensuring the safety our students here at CHS both in and out of the classroom. Safety for must continue to be our top priority. The initial “adrenaline rush” we each begin the year with has waned and it is human nature to lose focus at these times. Below are just some reminders of some expectations each staff member must follow in order to ensure a safe environment.
Be at your doors between passing periods to greet your students and to keep an eye on the hallway traffic
This creates a welcoming environment for all of your students and also allows you to monitor the areas the AP’s are not stationed around.
When sending your students out of class, please send them out with the personalized staff hall pass you were given the first week of school.
If you are sending large groups into the hallways to work, please ensure you are actively monitoring them throughout the entire period.
If you have students coming in for tutoring or a club meeting after school, please remind them to be in your room prior to the 4:00 pm bell. Once tutoring is finished, instruct them to leave the building. If they need to go to the library you will need to escort them to the library or call the circulation desk at 6577 to let the librarians know they are coming.
Thank you for doing your part in helping us keep CHS safe. It is highly important to strengthen our safe and family climate at CHS. Strong families and strong teams hold each other accountable and support each other, as well as challenge to learn and grow. I invite you to read the blog post: Are you a Family or a Team?

Greetings from SubMundo:
Are you tired of e-mailing Patcee or Anthony to assign a confirmed substitute in the system? Great news! You can now assign your own confirmed sub and not have to depend on the callout system. For example, if you have spoken with Mr. David Trail to confirm that he available on your desired date, you can follow these simple instructions to confirm him in the system. PLEASE NOTE: You must communicate and confirm before you assign a substitute to your class! Click Here
Local Sick Days: We are happy to announce that medical documentation is preferred but not required before, after or on HR designated days (holidays, professional learning days, etc). For example, if you enter a sick day on the day before a holiday, you will not be required to submit medical documentation to support the absence. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns - please contact District HR representatives.
