Elementary Instrumental Music Sign-Ups

3rd, 4th, and 5th Gr. Students

Now is the time for current 3rd and 4th grade students to sign up for elementary instrumental music for the 2021-2022 school year.

We are in Step I of the registration process. Step I has been extended to Friday, June 4th, 2021!

New Students: Discuss options with your child as to what instrument will be the best fit for him/her. Go to https://www2.soudertonsd.org/instrumentalmusic. There, you will need your child's Student ID number (the number they use to buy food in the cafeteria). Answer the questions and submit. We will contact you when it is time to move forward to Step II.

Continuing Students: Every student who is going to play in their SECOND year needs to re-register. Re-registering will get fresh student information to the music teachers in each building. There, you will need your child's Student ID number (the number they use to buy food in the cafeteria).

Step II will open on June 11th, 2021. At that time, you will receive an e-mail with further instructions on how to rent an instrument. Please do not rent or purchase an instrument at this time. Rental information will go home before the end of the school year.

It is the hope of the SASD music department that every child has the opportunity to try a musical instrument while they are in elementary school. This is an opportune time to explore an area of their education that could bring years of enjoyment and enrichment to their lives in school and beyond. Please talk with your child to help them decide which instrument would suit them best. We look forward to having your child in the instrumental music program next school year!

Please contact one of the music teachers if you have any questions.

Heath and Safety Reminders

May 31, 2021

he COVID-19 vaccine is authorized and available for everyone age 12 and over. Montgomery County is currently administering the Pfizer vaccine for those aged 12 and older, and the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine for those aged 18 and older, at its COVID-19 vaccine clinics. See the COVID-19 Vaccine Registration page for details.

Also, to help distinguish COVID-19 symptoms from allergy symptoms, the Montgomery County Office of Public Health provides a "Seasonal Allergies or COVID-19?" resource. A reminder that the CDC has identified the symptoms listed below as being common to both allergies and COVID-19:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose

If your child is experiencing any of the symptoms described, please contact your healthcare provider, inform them of your child’s symptoms, and follow their advice.

For more information, please visit the PA Department of Health's COVID-19 Vaccines page, along with the Montgomery County Office of Public Health's Get the Facts about COVID-19 Vaccines flyer.
