Wednesday Morning Memo - Week 17
1/1/19 Happy New Year!
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Happy New Year
I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year! And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been. – Rainer Maria Rilke
The bringing in of a new year allows gives individuals an opportunity to reflect and set goals for their future selves. Remember, a goal without a plan is just a wish. For those setting New Years Resolutions, consider writing it down, provide a timeline, schedule weekly check-ins with an accountability partner, and post it somewhere.
I'm going to leave you with one final quote, "Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." - Jim Rohn
I believe that all of us can conquer the goals that we set out for ourselves and look forward to hearing any goals that you all choose to set.
PBIS Stations
The PBIS Team is organizing a Station Rotation day for our students. This day will allow for our students to hear and practice expectations for different parts of our building (office, lunchroom, playground, etc). Our goal for having students practice these stations is to provide consistent and clear expectations for all our students across the building. We will discuss this further during our PLC on the 7th, including a detailed schedule and specific lessons.
Students will be visiting a total of 8 stations in the AM or PM on January 11th.
Students in (Y5-2) will go through the stations in the morning and grades (3-5) will go through them in the afternoon.
NWEA
The NWEA Testing Window starts on Monday, January 7th and runs through February 8th. Makeup Testing will be held inside of the lab during the week of February 4th.
Homeroom Teachers will have two options in conducting the testing sessions for their classes.
Option A: Teachers may test inside the computer lab
Option B: Teachers may borrow Chromebooks from a grade level partner and test inside of their classroom
Those those interested in testing within their homerooms should watch this MAP Test Proctor Tutorial (6 mins) by clicking here. Please let Karen or myself know if you'd like assistance setting up a testing session inside of your classroom.

Magnet Nominations
Teachers nominations begin in January and will be accepted through February 6th, 2019.
Teachers, let me know if you have students that you believe would make great candidates for the magnet program.
- Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
- Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
