Message from the Principal
Dear Central Road Families,
I hope you had a nice weekend! The news that was shared by Governor Pritzker about school closures, was very disappointing to our students and staff. With our uncertain times, it's important to stay positive. It will help all of us persevere through these uncharted waters. We have more time with our families, our technology skills are increasing and we are focusing on staying healthy. The addition of Google Meets has allowed staff members to personally connect with students. Families have shared that students are enjoying their new virtual classrooms. Teachers are thrilled to be able to engage their students in activities and to connect with their class.
With the announcement of schools remaining closed through the end of the school year, we would like to offer an opportunity for you to retrieve items from your child's desk and/or locker. Staff members will be gathering and bagging items, there will not be an opportunity for families to enter the building due to distancing recommendations.
For management purposes, we are happy to donate or dispose of the supplies/belongings left behind should you not need to have them returned.
-Please complete the survey below for each child who attends Central Road.
-If we do not receive a response from you, it is assumed it is your preference we donate your child's supplies and/or belongings.
-This survey will remain open until Friday, May 1st.
A pick-up schedule will be shared with families. Grade levels will be assigned dates, please plan accordingly, as we can not store any items that have not been picked up . Please know that our first priority is for the safety of our staff, students, and families.

Google Meets Student Expectations
Appropriate classroom behavior, apparel and language is expected.
Log into your meeting from a distraction free, quiet environment.
Please keep your audio on mute until you want to speak. This will help to limit background noise.
If you would like to speak or answer a question, raise your hand in the video. Then unmute yourself after you are called on.
If you would like to use the chat box, remember that it is public and a record of the chat is kept by the district.
If the teacher calls on you, unmute, answer the question, then mute again
Have paper and a pen or pencil handy to take notes.
Make sure your video is on so we can see your happy face.
Wait for the teacher to dismiss you (just like in the classroom).
