Blue Bonnet Book Vote

This six weeks the 3rd through 5th grade students are learning the voting process by using their vote to pick the best books in the state of Texas.

TBA Voting

Eligible readers will cast votes for their favorite TBA book anytime during the month of January. Eligible voters are readers in grades 3-6 who have read (or heard read aloud) at least 5 of the master list titles and are enrolled in a TBA-registered institution. All votes must be submitted by midnight on January 31 (CST). Each registered institution may choose either to conduct online voting or paper ballot voting.

These are also sold during the school annual Book Fair so please look for the table set up in the next book fair in January 2016.

Veteran' s Day at WHES!

November 11, 2015 We celebrated our Vets. Some community members came in to tell the tells of and the history behind Veteran's Day. We would like to thank Mr. Anthony Eddington Sr. and Mr. Tony Hinton fro volunteering their services and talking to the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.

Second Six Week Library Reading and Writing Competition Classes

This second six weeks ice cream winners were the classes of 1D Delgado, 2G Bonilla, 1 G Noriega, 5F Mrs. Gallagos. We are now into the 3rd six weeks and off to the next challenge for National Picture Book Month. The winners will receive Popcorn on the Librarian.

The teacher costume contest winners of the Character Parade

Teachers were put into to competition this past Character Parade create team building.
The winners of the competition were the Specials team in their presentation of the book of the "Wizard of Oz". The 1st runner up are the 1st team with the presentation of" Pete the Cat".
