Tech Update-Powercord Issues-From Dr. Blattner
Monday, in Cabinet a new process was adopted concerning replacement of lost, damaged or warranty chargers. This process was developed with by a team that included a representative from each of the groups impacted by this process. The main change to the process concerns when a work order is placed for replacement. A work order is not placed by the school until the student has paid for the power cord.
A cord would only be covered under warranty if it is undamaged and is not working, or it is starting to fray where the small cord meet the power brick. If the cord is severed it will not be covered under warranty.
Technology Academy Conference Call for Presenters
The format of the conference will be open to ALL elementary staff and will focus on the implementation of these devices. There will be 3 dates (12/3/15, 2/11/16, and 4/14/16) this year from 3:00pm 5:00pm at the Unity Center. If you are selected to be one of the presenters then your time and date will be negotiated with you. We are hoping to have 3 concurrent sessions running during this time that teachers can rotate through. You do not have to be working in an elementary school to provide best practices to your colleagues!
I am actively working on getting donations from local businesses and teams to provide you with a goodie bag! You will also receive renewal credit for attending the event! If you are interested please fill out the application found in the link below. I look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions please contact me at awarren@iss.k12.nc.us.
