Student-Led Conferences
Time is quickly approaching for our Spring Conferences. We are excited to return to our in-person Student-Led Conference format. This is an exciting way for your child to show how he/she has grown as a learner and a leader. Students will present to you examples of their learning success and growth in reading, writing, math, and other areas of their choice. We invite you to participate in a conversation that encourages your child to explain his/her learning, possible challenges, and how they feel about the progress they have made so far this school year.
Student-Led Conferences will be held on March 24th and March 25th.
We look forward to this wonderful opportunity for your child to be a leader and also be the owner of his/her learning. Our Student-Led Conferences are a special celebration of your child’s growth throughout this school year!
Please look for an email later today with the sign-up genius link.

Welcome Back to Spanish!
innovative ways to use our space.
Along with this change, we welcome back Mrs. Clark to our Spanish Room. Additionally, due to some necessary scheduling changes, we welcome back Mr. Tran to Silver Springs. He will be here on Thursdays in place of Mrs. Segerstrom. We will miss Mrs. Segerstrom dearly, but know that she is nearby at another one of our elementary schools.

Ukrainian Children's Aid and Relief Effort
With everything that is happening in Ukraine right now, we thought as a school community we could come together to have a fundraiser for the children of Ukraine. The organization UCARE (Ukrainian Children's Aid and Relief Effort), an organization that provides humanitarian aid, running summer camps, providing scholarships and much more, is having a Humanitarian Aid Drive during the month of March. This cause is near and dear to one of our staff members, Tanya (Kurinij) Murphy, who is Ukrainian and has family currently living in Ukraine.
Please see the attached flyer with all the details of items requested. Donation boxes will be outside the main office starting Monday, March 7th through Friday, March 18th.
Thank you for your support!

UPDATE: Bus Routes Resume to Normal for March
Durham School Services (our transportation provider) has been able to add to our cadre of fully trained bus drivers, allowing us to resume all of our scheduled bus routes during the month of March. We understand that bus route cancellations are disruptive and inconvenient to our parents and students. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to work closely with Durham to address the bus driver shortage.

Leader in Me Focus for the Month - Habit 5 Seek First to Understand Then to Be Understood
February At Home Activity
This month’s Habit: Habit 5: Seek First to Understand Then to Be Understood
Activity: See the variety of ideas below
Due Date: March 25th
Please click the button below to access the activity. We would love to have you share your Family Fun Reflections with us by February 28, so we can proudly display our families practicing the 7-Habits at home!
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
What this means: Listen before you talk. In order to communicate effectively, we must first understand each other.
“I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings.”
“I try to see things from their viewpoints.”
“I listen to others without interrupting.”
“I am confident in voicing my ideas.”
“I look people in the eyes when talking.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Listen.
2. Put yourself in the other person’s place.
3. Notice a person’s body language, tone, and reflection in their voice.

Updated NPS COVID-19 Mitigation Plan
The Northville Board of Education voted to update the NPS COVID-19 Mitigation Plan to allow families and staff to make individual choices regarding masking based on their own circumstances. This masking option went into effect on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Please note that there are some areas where masks will still be required:
The CDC federal mask requirement remains in place on public transportation, including on school buses.
Individuals who have tested positive (or reported to the district as a close contact) should mask through Day 10.
To review the newly updated NPS COVID-19 Mitigation Plan, visit the district’s website.

School Lunch Program
The Northville Public Schools provides a hot lunch program for interested students.
Families must preorder lunches for preschools and elementary students. Orders must be in by 8am for preschools students and 8:30 am for elementary students to receive a lunch that day. The system will not allow you to order after the time listed above. For your convenience, meals can be preordered up to 30 days in advance. To avoid any issues, we recommend ordering the night before.
