PARENT MOVIE NIGHT | Tuesday, May 19th

On Tuesday, May 19th from 5:30 - 8 p.m, we will host a screening of Arusi Persian Wedding. We are so excited to showcase this compelling documentary, produced and directed by BPCS 1st-grade parent, Marjan Tehrani. Arusi Persian Wedding is an examination of US-Iranian relations through the personal journey of Alex (Marjan's brother), and his fiancée Heather’s trip to Iran to hold a traditional Persian wedding. Set against the turbulent relationship between the U.S. and Iran, this documentary weaves the couple’s personal story with historical footage and offers a glimpse into a vibrant and complex country rarely seen in Western media. Free childcare and pizza offered - please RSVP using the link below.

After learning about why and how bridges were built and how they impacted peoples' lives, we will explore a very special bridge in our own backyard, the Brooklyn Bridge! On Friday, May 20th, We will take the subway into Manhattan then walk back across the bridge. During our walk, we will examine the bridge's structure and geography surrounding it up close to deepen our understanding of these topics.
