Parkview Elementary Newsletter
September 2018
Dear Parkview Families,
Welcome to a new school year! It is my hope that you and your family will find that Parkview Elementary School is full of caring individuals who are always willing to help each other realize our students full potential. Our theme this year is Get on the Energy Bus! Throughout the year you will see Energy Bus Themed school projects and celebrations. As with every school year, we welcome new families, students and staff to the building. We make every effort to help families feel welcome and that our new students feel at home at their new school.
As I begin my fourth year at Parkview as your building principal, I look forward to this school year with great excitement and anticipation. We have a dedicated staff, terrific students, and an amazing parent community! Parkview PRIDE is alive and well! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 715-720-3750 or email me at olsonml@chipfalls.org.
Yours in Parkview PRIDE,
Melissa Olson
Principal

We are looking forward to seeing YOU at our 2018 Mentor Registrations
Mentor a child - make a difference!
The Chippewa Area Mentor Program is looking for mentors! Time is one of the most valuable gifts we can give children. Become a mentor and spend 30 minutes per week having fun and building a relationship with a young person. Mentoring involves being matched with a student, grade K-12, and meeting with him/her one day a week, at school, for 30-minutes to talk, play games, toss a ball, or take a walk. You'll be amazed at how just 30-minutes out of your day means so much to the child you spend it with!
Parkview Mentors - September 19 at 3:00pm in the library
If you are unable to attend we will contact you to set up your mentor day/time.
We look forward to seeing you then!
PBIS News
September 2018:
Welcome back, Parkview families!
As we start the 2018-2019 school year, you may hear your child talk about Parkview Pride or PBIS. Our teachers and support staff are working hard on re-teaching positive behaviors in six main areas in our school: lockers, bathrooms, playground, bus lines, lunchroom, and hallways. Please encourage your child to show their "Parkview Pride" behaviors by being kind, safe, respectful, and responsible in all of these areas in our school.
Our first all-school celebration takes place on our early release day, September 21st, where we will roll out our year long theme of “Hop on the Energy Bus”. Our theme is based on the book “The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Life, Work and Team” by Jon Gordon, that you as a parent might enjoy reading. It is available in many formats at your local library. There is also a children’s version of the book called, “The Energy Bus for Kids” that will be read by Principal Olson to all our students. Look for more Energy Bus information and updates on events from the Parkview PBIS team in each monthly newsletter!
ATTENTION! RCU is recruiting 5th grade students!
