Goal for the Week: Reflecting & Goal Setting

LEAD 2021 I. Personnel Strategy: We will purposefully hire, continually train, and hold accountable all GCISD staff to ensure the fulfillment of the GCISD mission and strategic objectives. Staff will develop, reflect, and revise an individualized professional learning plan that is uniform throughout the district.

As we start to wind down the first semester and prepare for the second semester, tis the season for reflecting and goal setting. With CEC right before the break, we reflected on the progress attained thus far on our campus goals. We have accomplished so much since the start of school, from the integration of technology to enrich our students' learning experiences to student led conferences to weekly PLCs, just to name a few!

For the second semester, we will continue to work toward accomplishing our CIP goals (see CIP plan attached). My personal goals for myself and our campus include being more intentional about integrating Portrait of a Graduate language into our staff meetings, newsletters, and discussions; establishing tech nights for families; focusing on reading and writing workshop; and extending and enriching for our all of our students. Tonya and I look forward to visiting with each of you in the coming weeks to review your PLP and goals you have for the second semester.

Thank you for all you do as we build an excellent school together!

Remember to...

  • Thank you Sue Atkins, Alecia Engle, Brittany Chapman, Jennifer McNamara, and Abbey King for helping to decorate the BES tree for the Colleyville tree lighting festival! Your time out in the cold wind was appreciated! The tree looks FABULOUS!
  • BES won 1st place in PTA volunteer hours for the month of October!!! Thank you for taking time to thank our fabulous volunteers!
  • Love the holiday team pictures! Thank you for being creative for the BEST holiday card!
  • Wonderful learning and reflecting as a result of site visits to other classrooms in our building and throughout the district. Looking forward to talking through these ideas and insights at vertical teams on Tuesday.
  • Congrats to Sue Atkins for being nominated for as an H-E-B Outstanding Educator!

Grace Christmas Cottage

We have a fabulous opportunity to take some time out give back to our community through service. Please join us Wednesday, December 16, 2013, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the GRACEChristmas Cottage as we assist clients with their holiday "shopping". We will have brief orientation by the Cottage volunteers, then begin serving clients around 5:00 p.m.

The Cottage offers new, unwrapped gifts to families who may otherwise be without this holiday season. As volunteers, we walk around with the clients as they shop for the different members of their immediate family assisting them as they select the perfect gifts. This is truly my favorite event of the holiday season.

To preserve client privacy, all volunteers must be over the age of 18. If you are planning on attending, please let me know by clicking here.
