Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
I trust that your family had a good rest with time to relax and enjoy one another’s company over the long weekend.
I would like to thank Mr Croxford and Ms Filippone for their efforts in preparing our students to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Mass on Sunday was a beautiful celebration and Emeritus Archbishop Hickey challenged the Confirmation candidates and all in the congregation to rise to Christ’s call of action to love one another, to forgive and to look after those in most need in our society.
We understand that some families want their children to bring a phone to school, so that they are contactable after school, particularly if the children are walking home on their own or catching public transport. If your child needs to bring a phone to school, they must hand it in at the front office where it will be kept safely until the end of the day. Mobile phones are NOT to be kept in school bags during the school day.
A reminder to all families using Kiss and Drive that there is a no right turn exit out of the driveway. If you turn right, you hold up cars behind you and this causes a major traffic jam through our Kiss and Drive all the way down to Girrawheen Avenue. A staff member will be monitoring the exit over the next few days to remind families not to turn right. We know we can count on your cooperation with this rule for the safety of all in our community.
There are several children who are attending school whilst visibly sick. We are regularly having to call parents to come and collect children throughout the course of the school day. Children who are ill can become quite distressed when they are feeling unwell at school. If your child is sick, please keep them at home until their symptoms clear. If they are showing Covid-19 symptoms, a sore throat, runny nose, cough, vomiting or diarrhoea please test your child for Covid-19. We still have Rapid Antigen Tests available for collection from the front office for those families who have not collected their allocated box of tests.
God bless you.
