New Beginnings
Every New Year it's like a fresh start, a new chance, a new opportunity. So many people jump back into the gym after a long break, others make resolutions to eat healthier, and then there are some who have given up resolutions altogether. Either way, this is a new year, a chance for new hope. I'm hopeful for the things we will accomplish together in 2018, and optimistic about the changes that will be made. I hope your break was amazing and that you have an incredible HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Reset
The students have been gone for 2 weeks..that is two weeks to "forget" the rules and procedures you have established. Let's take this opportunity to get a fresh start and re-establish your classroom and our school wide rules and procedures. Take a look at my "expectations" that I shared at the beginning of the year. I still need to add to it, but I want you to remember some of the things that I expect of everyone.
A few in particular:
-Grades: should be posted weekly.
-Lesson plans: Should be in Eduphoria the Thursday before the next week.
-Discipline: Mr. Roe will explain his process and he will be the contact for this. I am still reachable, but will defer to him in most cases until it reaches my level.
-Hallways: should be monitored between passing periods. Teachers should be visible.
- Passes: students need passes to go anywhere including nurse, office, and restroom.

Brrrr...Dress Code
As the temperatures drop, let's make sure students are equipped with warm attire. We don't mind coats out of dress code if they are to be worn outside only. However, if to be worn inside, they must be black, brown, blue, white or gray. No logos other than TLCA allowed unless it is less than 4"X 4".
Seek First to Understand and then be Understood
So many times we jump to conclusions...we react. This habit is centered around trying to think before we speak. Is the person yelling because they are trying to be mean to you, or simply because they are upset about the situation. I know that this is one I have to process...especially where my kids are concerned.
