The Riebli Record
April 10, 2020
A message from Mrs. Todd
Dear Parents,
This week has been super busy. We have passed out over 100 Chromebooks. Thank you to Ms. Lisa for helping me. Teachers have been busy working on their distance learning and learning alongside your students. Thank you to the parents for all of your hard work. Construction has also started on the Riebli Office. We will have a new office and adult bathrooms in the back wing when you return in August.
Grading has come up as a question from some parents. Your end of the year grades will be based on your report card grades, as of March 13. Students will only be able to increase their "grades" from what was reported no that report card. The distance learning work will only increase their skills, knowledge, and performance in their grade level. So, no worries about grades going any lower.
One question I keep getting is "How do I get my student's personal stuff from the classrooms?" The district is working on a plan to do this. We will not be having student item pick up until the "Shelter in place" is lifted.
Please email me your questions and I will get answers for you.
I miss you all!
XO, Mrs. Todd

Virtual Spring Book Fair
The "Virtual Spring Book Fair" is now on the books! It will run for 2 weeks, April 13th-26th. This Fair is a bit different, as it has something for everyone! It's not our typical K-6 selection, as shoppers will have access to the entire Scholastic Store. Riebli families can invite all their family members, extended family, to shop our site and support the Riebli Library Budget. This is a great time to add to the home libraries, as getting out and about is not an option. Every order is conveniently shipped directly to their home. I'm completely thankful to Scholastic for making this possible.

Talent Show news
The talent show is one of our most fun events of the school year. While, we can't meet in person, as they say in the theatre, "The show must go on."
We are going to proceed with a virtual talent show. What is that you may be asking?? Record your talent and send in the file. All the submissions will be compiled into a virtual talent show!!! Just because we are home, doesn't mean we can't show off that Riebli talent!!!!
Submissions are limited to 90 seconds.
If you want to submit something with a friend, use ZOOM to coordinate the talent, record your ZOOM call!!!
If you want to record just yourself, we would love that as well.
Email in the videos to Kellysansone@comcast.net by April 11th.
In the email please include the student(s) name, teacher, and grade.
Same rules apply as the regular talent show. Talent must be age appropriate. Any submission that is not age appropriate will not be included in the show.
I know this is different, so if you have any questions at all please reach out to kellysansone@comcast.net.
Thanks Kelly

Book Hunting
When permission is given, you'll have the opportunity to collect the personal items of your children from our school campus. In anticipation of this, I would ask that you please go Book Hunting. Many children took school library books home with them before Spring Break. It would be great if you could please ask your children about this now. This way you'll be able to return them when you're able to visit the campus. It would be a giant help to me, and I truly appreciate your efforts.
Take note that school library books have labeling on the book's spine, making them easier to see in your own home libraries. If you need the titles of your child's books, please email me, and I can get that information to you. Some children didn't checkout books, and I'll also be able to let you know if that is the case. Kinder classes didn't get books that last week, but I also didn't get all Kinder books returned from the previous week. Many children left a book in their desk or cubbie. I can't give you that specific, but I can let you know the name of the book. Any accounts not cleared will be put on hold in the new school year, until the book is returned or payment is made.
Many thanks for your assistance with all this,
Miss Denise
