Help your student(s) prepare for ISAT testing.
Last Schoolwide Testing Date - May 3rd
Parents play an essential role in getting students ready for the annual ISAT testing. Here are suggestions on how parents can help their children prepare for the ISAT:
- Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep before the test.
- Make sure your child eats breakfast the day of the test.
- Make sure your child wears comfortable clothes on the day of the test.
- Let your child know that they should take the test seriously and do their best.
Testing can be a stressful time for students. With your help, we can ensure that all students are in a great frame of mind and ready to do their best.
"The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
-Thomas A. Edison.
STEM Fair - This Friday at Syringa
This year, Syringa students aren't just learning about science; they are putting on their lab coats and becoming scientists! A partnership with the wildlife managers from Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge has offered Syringa's 7th graders the chance to practice some authentic community science. They worked in teams to collect water quality samples from various locations at Lake Lowell.
Our 8th graders have also spent some time looking into the impact humans have on the water systems in our community and have developed some water filtration techniques that help clean up water after humans have used it for drinking, showering, and cooking.
Advanced 7th and 8th-grade science students have prepared a variety of science experiments on topics like turbidity, water filtration, oil pollution, and biodegradable compost materials to show off their knowledge of how science works. These engineering projects will be displayed for our Caldwell community members at the STEM fair this Friday night, April 29th, from 5-6:30 pm. Syringa's scientists will be joined by guests from Deer Flat, the House of Design, and even the ReUsuem from Boise.
Participate at the fair! Build a robot out of a toothbrush and wander through a Sensory Safari of North American wildlife with the whole family at the Syringa STEM Fair!

Middle School Dance
Who says books and dancing don't go together? To celebrate the winners of this year's "Battle of the Books" and "Greatest of All Time" book competitions, students chose how they wanted to mark the occasion. The students voted, and the "Dance Across the Decades" was born! All Syringa students were invited to attend the free dance after school on April 20th and could use schola dollas or actual dollars to buy food, drinks, glow bracelets, buttons, and other fun things or get their picture taken in the photo booth. There was also a contest for the best "Dance Across the Decades" costume with $10 Dutch Bros. Gift cards were given to Connor Fullerton, Kolten Marsh, and Jaiden Pizano. Mrs. Griffith was our fabulous DJ, and all had a good time! Thank you to all the teachers who helped at the dance and Mrs. Lindquist's leadership class for the fabulous decorations.
Go Cougs!
