Tēnā koutou katoa (hello everyone)
Wow, what a week. There really is so much to be proud of and so many people to thank. The Scarecrow Fair was a real success and the rain didn't dampen everyone's spirits too much. The approximate profit margin is $28,000 - a massive amount that we are all so delighted with. We would like to acknowledge and thank everyone for the part they played in getting the 2022 Fair over the line. There are so many of you who helped in countless ways and we appreciate the work that went in - lots of it in the background.
A huge shout out must go to the local businesses, organisations and families who kindly donated auction prizes, tents, equipment, food and so many other things - our results wouldn't be nearly as amazing without your support. Please do what you can to support those who support us.
And The Winner Is.......
What a fabulous effort our community has made with the creation of Scarecrows this year. We have had so much feedback about the high standard and the number of scarecrows. Other schools & community groups have been doing the drive over the last few weeks - watch out for next year's theme.
Congratulation to Greg & Ali Lang for their absolutely outstanding creation - the judges were super impressed. We look forward to presenting you with the trophy.
A break down of the takings sheet is included below - every little bit helps and we are super proud of all the stalls and initiatives.
At last night's meeting the FoGS group approved the last of our school wish list funding - a substantial total, $16,000. We are delighted to be able to go ahead with the final items on our list. These are the things that FoGS fundraising has paid for during 2022:
Fair 2023 - Is All Go! Saturday 11th November 2023
Also at last nights FoGS meeting it was decided to continue on with a fair in 2023. A debrief of this years fair was undertaken and a plan has been set to streamline things even further. Watch out for a new and improved strategy to clarify roles, responsibilities and help. The group also decided to re-brand - keep an eye out for a catchy new name.
PGG Wrightson - Cash for Communitites
Cash for Communities is a way for farmers, growers and contractors to give back to their community when purchasing Ballance Agri-Nutrients through their PGG Wrightson account between 1 September - 30 November 2022. For every tonne of qualifying Ballance fertiliser, $1 is donated from Ballance back to the cause of their choosing.
Farmers have to sign up and register before 30th November and pick Gladstone School.
Scarecrow Fair Pamper Vouchers C/- Genevieve Bayliss
FOGS have a limited number of $20 pamper vouchers, which entitle the purchaser to have a mini facial for themselves and a friend with all proceeds going to our school. Treat yourself or purchase as a gift. Payment can be made to the main FOGS account 12-3290-0004707-000. Please collect your vouchers from Kirstan at the office and leave your name and contact details with her. Enjoy!
