Principal's Point--10/23
Dear Timberview Families,
Brrr, it's cold out! Fall seems to have arrived quickly today. This is my favorite season of the year and one of my favorite parts of my favorite season is Red Ribbon Week! Next week, our students and faculty will participate in Red Ribbon Week to remind us all to remain drug-free. During Middle School, students begin to face the challenges of peer pressure, social media influence and their own innate nature of rebellion. It is vital that our students receive clear messages about the dangers of drug use and how much of an impediment they are to a successful life. I encourage you to take the opportunity to have frank conversations with your student about vaping, marijuana, and alcohol during this time. These discussions can be hard and uncomfortable at times, but I know that long term, your student will appreciate your guidance and wisdom.
To celebrate living a drug-free life, we will have dress up days for all of our students (remote and in person)! See below for a list of the dress-up days. I can't wait to see our students go all out!
Have a great weekend and stay safe out there.

Automated Attendance Calls
Parents, you may have noticed that the automated attendance calls have started. Here is some information to help understand the attendance process this year:
Remote Students - Teachers have until Mondays at 4:00 pm to make corrections to student attendance for the previous week. This gives the teachers plenty of time to go back and check for student engagement throughout the week. If you have submitted any Parent or Doctor notes for your student, the attendance office can not enter these notes until AFTER the teacher submits attendance on Mondays. This means that attendance notes are not entered by the office until Tuesday mornings. Please be patient with us and this new process. If you see still see absences coded "A" after Tuesday, please call the Attendance Office at 817-744-2640.
In-Person Students - Teachers will take attendance every period. If your student has late arrival or is checked out early, those absences will not be corrected until the following day. If you get the notification for an absence you do not know about (meaning you did not check the student in/out), please call the attendance office at 817-744-2640 and we will help get that cleared up. If your in-person student is home for whatever reason, they are allowed to engage remotely with the classes they missed and be counted present that class period. It is the student's responsibility to contact the teacher via their backpack/google classroom/email to get instructions on how to participate remotely. This must be done by 11:59 pm the same day and the teacher will go into their attendance and mark them Remote Asynchronous. Again, this correction may take a day or 2 to be completed in the system.
As always, please call the Front Desk or the Attendance Office with questions

Glamourcraft Retakes and Sports Pictures - Mark Your Calendars for October 30
Retake picture day is scheduled for Friday, October 30. In person students will be called for retakes between 9:00-11:00 and remote students may come anytime between 11:00-1:00. An email with your student's photo proof will be sent a few weeks after picture day for ordering, so there is no need to order ahead or send money.
In person - An announcement will be made for each grade level's retakes during the 9:00-11:00 window.
Remote students - There will not be a sign up this time. Please arrive sometime during the 11:00-1:00 window. Students who need their picture made may enter the building by the big gym (the glass doors before the main entrance). A line will form against the wall. If there are more than 3 students in line, please remain waiting in line outside of the building and enter as someone leaves. Masks will be required except when the actual picture is made.
Other pictures being made on October 30 are football, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country, and tennis. Order forms will be sent home from the corresponding coach.
For the first time ever, all student sport pictures will be ordered online!
Every student participating in the sport being photographed will have an individual picture made. Parents will be able to view these pictures a few weeks after the picture day.
Please note there are two codes: The first one is for the team and group
pictures, these must be prepaid and purchased before or on picture day using
this code.
The second code is for the parents to use after the individual images have
been taken and put online. It will take about two weeks for these images
to go online after picture day. This year parents can view the picture
before they purchase.
All packages will be shipped to the parents homes.
