Meet the Staff!
I hope you all enjoyed reading last weeks Meet The Staff column, where we featured Mrs. Lisa DeRoode, Mr. Alan Daley, and Mrs. Erica Dickenman. This week we have three new faces excited to share a little about themselves. Make sure to come back next week to see who the next three will be!
Meet Alexandra Hebert, our Associate Instructor
1) Question: What’s the last book you read?
Answer: “The last book I read was What If? By Randall Munroe. It’s a collection of funny and interesting questions answered with science and simple comedic drawings. One question I really liked was “What would happen if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90% the speed of Light?”
2) Question: What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Answer: “I am currently watching “A series of unfortunate events” on Netflix. I’m a fan of the Lemony Snicket stories, and Neil Patrick Harris who stars in the series. It’s been very good so far!”
3) Question: What’s the most helpful way for you to get feedback?
Answer: “The most helpful way for me to get feedback is in writing, because it gives me the opportunity to revisit that feedback so I can improve my practice.”
Meet Anja Pennell our 7th Grade Science Teacher
1) Question: Where's your favorite place in the world?
Answer: "Currently, my favorite place in the world is Moab, Utah"

Meet Ashley Williams our Paraprofessional Educator
1) Question: Who inspires you?
Answer: “One individual who inspires me is Beyoncé. Every morning I wake up I think to myself “Who runs the world Girls”. Her grind is unstoppable. She strives to be the best in everything she does. Not only does Beyoncé work hard she’s also a great mother. This is why Beyoncé inspires me.”
2) Question: What are some of your pet peeves?
Answer: "Some of my pet peeves are when people leave the water running while brushing their teeth and when people sneeze in the car.”
3) Questions: What’s your favorite movie?
Answer: “My favorite movie is Charlies Angels. I Love! Love! Love! Cameron Diaz!!”
Youth Risk Behavior Survey
Our students are taking the 2017 Youth Risk Behavior Survey. The results of this survey will help CREC develop effective programs to promote healthy choices among students. The survey will ask students about their health behavior, including questions about nutrition, physical activity, injuries, tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use. It will also ask about sexual behaviors that cause AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
The questionnaire takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.
Some students might find certain questions to be sensitive. The survey has been designed to protect your child’s privacy. Students will not put their names on the survey and therefore, no student can or will be mentioned by name in the reported results. We would like all selected students to take part in the survey, but the survey is voluntary. The middle school and high school surveys can be viewed online at:
https://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/data/yrbs/questionnaires.htm
If you do NOT want the student to take part in the survey, check the box and return the form to the main office by Monday, January 30th, 2017.
The opt- out form is found at the link below:
