Facultly & Staff Bulletin - Montgomery City Elementary

Together we will guide, encourage, and challenge

our children to become life-long learners.

MCE’s PBIS Principles:

Be Kind! Be Safe! Be Cooperative! Be Respectful! Be Responsible!

Your challenge for the week: 4 positives to each negative

We need to make a conscious effort to ensure we are encouraging positive behaviors and catching our students making good choices! Give away those tickets - paired with specific feedback as to why students are earning them. The key is to be specific and sincere.

Check-in with your Accountability Partner

On Monday you met with a partner and discussed 2 goals to push you to the end of the year. Check in with your partner to share what you are doing to move toward your goal.

Deadline for summer learning project - Have your information to Laura/Amy by April 1st. We will discuss them at our PLC GLM.

Tornado Drill -

Excellent job getting everyone to safety in less than 4 minutes! We have plenty of room in the old lockers rooms, and gym storage area. I know it is crowded and warm, but everyone is below ground level and safe. We need to stress the importance of remaining calm and quiet in emergency situations. I encourage you to practice walking quickly down the hall and to your safe spot.

Thank You for your help with carnival this evening!

Thank you to everyone for helping with our Carnival tonight. PTO puts LOTS of time and effort into making all the "extras" possible for our students & school. We can show them how much we appreciate what they do for us by volunteering our time to help with their activities. Thank you!!
Whole Brain Teaching: 3rd Grade: Classroom Management

School is IN Session on Monday. We will follow Friday's schedule. No school on Friday!

Important Reminders:

1. Everyone is to be in the building from all recesses by 3:15 pm. We must be able to reach all teachers in the classrooms at the end of the day.

2. Everyone must sign out in the office before you leave the building during the day. This is necessary to keep everyone safe. We must know who is/is not in the building in case of emergencies.

3. We must have professional integrity - our contracted hours are:

Certified Staff: 7:30 am - 4:15 pm

Non-Certified Staff: 7:15 am-4:15 am or 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

(depending on your assignment)

If you need to leave early, you must have this approved and sign out. We often have parents calling, and the office needs to be able to reach you in the building.

4. We are hosting Preschool Screenings at MCE on Wednesday, March 23rd in our gym from 9 am-5 pm. We will have MANY guests in our building that day.

5. PTO Ice Cream Fun Day will be on Thursday, March 24th due to Carnival this Friday.

6. We will have a jeans day on Monday for $2 donation to honor Downs Awareness Day. Our donations will go toward Kaylee Davis' medical expenses. Wear blue & yellow with your jeans! (This is Anita Davis' granddaughter & Jessica Shults' niece, daughter of Amanda & Neal Davis.)
