JTMS Counseling Newsletter

Encouragement, Information and Resources for Unique Times

September 14, 2020

Last week our Counseling Newsletter focused on things you can do to take care of yourself.

Today’s message is about reaching out to others.

September: Caring for others

Did you know that September is National Suicide Awareness Month? It is a month dedicated to the promotion of suicide prevention awareness, not just for ourselves but for our entire community.

Sounds like a lot of responsibility but it is actually just a way to show that we care about each other.

So, what can you do?

  1. If you have a concern about someone, ask them about it in a caring way

  2. Listen without judgement

  3. Help connect that person to other people and resources that can help

Three simple actions that can mean the world of difference to another person.
