First Grade 2015-2016

Note From the Teacher

This was a productive week in 1st grade! This week, in Reading, we worked on finding the main topic and supporting details. In Writing, we worked on How To Writing and Opinion Writing. We also completed a short writing piece about our dreams in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In Math, we worked on solving teen addition and subtraction problems with unknowns. In Science, we continued learning about health and nutrition.

Also, January 25-February 3 each building has been challenged by People Helping People of Republic to host a "Souper Bowl" aka a soup drive contest between classes! The class that brings in the highest number of packaged soups in each building will be awarded with Super Bowl-type snacks on Friday, February 5. Lets help a GREAT cause AND earn our class some Super Bowl snacks!!!

If you are interested in being a guest reader, please let me know! We would LOVE to have you! :-)
