Principal Update

12/9/22

Dear LP Families,

Happy Friday!

A few weeks ago, Mr. Spadoni and Mr. Klossner came up with an idea to create videos that show staff intentionally misbehaving as conversation starters for students to reflect on school expectations. To say they are hilarious is an understatement. If you are not subscribed to our Youtube channel, "LP Morning Show" you are really missing out! I will post the HEART Tournament videos below, but be sure to subscribe to our channel so you can see our kids updating announcements every day. A special thank you to Mr. Spadoni and Mr. Klossner for sharing their creativity, humor, and learning with us all!

On a personal note, I wanted to share that my family experienced a medical emergency with our son this week. He is going to be ok but I have needed to prioritize my most important role as mom. Even in my absence, the LP staff continued to keep the building running and learning happening. I continue to be thankful to work with the best people. Hug your families tight!

I hope you have a good weekend,

Dr. Bello

PS: Last chance to sign up to record a family tradition! We have 6 families signed up which is great but we would love more. Please see below for more information!

Weekly Highlights!

We are looking to record families who are willing to share one family tradition - a family story, a recipe, a way a holiday is celebrated, a meaningful song, or anything that your family does that is special and why it's important to you. We will compile these stories to make one video to show our students. During this time of the year, it is important to honor the different traditions that all families have and learn from each other. We are recording families on December 14th in two sessions: 8:00am or 2:00pm. If you are interested, please complete this form:

LP Health Update! We have been experiencing an increased number of students absent from school due to illness. We appreciate families giving students rapid COVID tests but there is a lot of respiratory illness going around too. Common symptoms reported are sore throat, headache, and fever. If your child is experiencing these symptoms, please keep them home and reach out to your pediatrician for guidance.

Important! Parent Portal Information

In order to access information like transportation, report cards, iPad protection fees, etc., you will need to create a parent portal account.

How do I create a Parent Portal Account?

Parent Portal Instructions:

In order to create a parent portal account, you will need to have an email address on file with the district before you begin. If you do not already have an email address on file with the district you will need to call the main office of your student's school from a phone number associated with you and your student in order for them to update your information. If you have neither an email address nor phone number on file with the district, you will need to visit your student's main office in person.

  1. Visit www.eastiron.org, click on the Infinite Campus link, select Campus Parent and click the "Click here to request a parent portal activation key" link on the Campus Parent homepage. You may also choose to go directly to the URL below.
    https://ic.eastiron.monroe.edu/campus/portal/custom/requestActivation.jsp
  2. Enter the email address that you provided to the district in the box and click the "Submit" button.
  3. You will receive an email with your activation key.
  4. Click the "New User" link on the Campus Parent homepage (refer to step 1 if necessary).
  5. Enter your activation key in the box and click the "Submit" button.
  6. Enter your desired username, password, confirm your password and click the "Submit" button.
