March Madness is BACK!

Let’s have fun with March Madness again this year—but with a NEW TWIST!

We are lining the halls with basketballs representing gifts made to Traders Point from MARCH 9—APRIL 6. Decorate your basketball (click here for basketball) with your favorite college team and your NAME. Then return it to school with your gift. No gift is too small, ALL balls will be displayed, and your donation (gift amounts remain anonymous) will be added to the total for your team.

We will keep a running total for each team throughout. Daily results for the “FABULOUS FOUR”, the top four teams of the day, will be posted in the Eagle’s Nest, at EC and on Facebook and Twitter! The WINNING TEAM will be announced on April 6th. The winning team’s school flag will be flown on our flagpole for a week and then displayed in the Eagle’s Nest for the rest of this school year.

Your gift is added to your favorite College Team’s TOTAL. The team with the highest total WINS!

Have Fun and Good Luck!

TPCA Movie Night on Saturday, March 21

Dear Traders Point Families:

Over the last six years, the TPCA Dad's Club has sought various ways to serve the Traders Point students and families, the community and each other. Every so often we get a chance to bring a message of faith to the community in which we live. Last year, in partnership with PureFlix Entertainment, we brought "God's Not Dead" to the Traders Point AMC. We are blessed to have the opportunity again with a new movie by PureFlix Entertainment called "Do You Believe?"

These movies are released quite differently from typical Hollywood movies. They require a sponsorship. The TPCA Dad's Club is sponsoring this movie so that it can be shown on the Northwest side of Indianapolis. Without this sponsorship, this movie would not be available in our area. The Dad's Club does this to spread the word of God to as many in the community as possible. With the help of a generous donor family, we buy out an entire theater and offer the tickets to you at a discount to make sure the opening weekend is an absolute sell-out.

On Saturday, March 21st, 6:30pm at the Traders Point AMC we will offer a private screening for all our friends and family. Come join us for a night of fun and worship!

"God's Not Dead" told the stories of different people, from different circumstances, challenging and defending that God is surely alive. Similarly, the characters in "Do You Believe" are faced with whether or not they believe in God… And if they do, what are they going to do about it? The movie is rated PG-13 due to some thematic elements, so please be aware of that. If you need more information on the movie, go to

The tickets are on sale for $6 per ticket until 3/14. After that the price of the tickets will increase to $8 per ticket. In order to encourage you to purchase your tickets early, we will be having give-aways each day starting tomorrow for those who have registered. Your name will remain in the pool each day (removed only if you win). In addition, the first 100 guests will receive a "Do You Believe?" movie bracelet. We are doing everything we can to encourage you to sign up early. So please don't wait! Sign up now at

All are welcome...not just TPCA families, but guests, friends, family, neighbors, life groups - whomever! The last few movies we have done were complete sell-outs and it's been a blast. We hope that you can come and join us this time.

Family Service Agreement Partial Buy-Out Option

TPCA will be offering a mid-year partial buy-out option. We recognize that many families have attempted but have not been able to serve hours like they planned at the beginning of the year, and we’d like to offer this option.

Families may choose to buy out some or all of the service hours they have remaining. Please note, this needs to be determined and communicated to us by Monday, March 16th by simply emailing Lisa Carr ( ) or Deb Woehr ( ).

This partial buy-out will be offered at the front-end rate of $10/service hour through that date. Any remaining unserved hours will be charged the back-end rate of $15/service hour as originally planned. Please note that the partial buy-out is a first year option as our families are getting used to this new program and may not be offered next year. We will evaluate this more closely as we complete the first full year of the FSA.

New J-Term Option for TPCA Seniors: Jerusalem!

TPCA is THRILLED to announce an incredible new 2016 J-Term option for TPCA seniors!

Jerusalem J-Term 2016 will focus on the most spiritually significant city in the world. You'll learn what happened there from the time of David through the life of Jesus. We will stay in the in the protected Christ Church compound inside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. At Christ Church you are in the city, a few minutes walk to the Western Wall and other historic landmarks. You'll see the places you've read about and you'll discover your Bible coming alive!

Our host in Jerusalem is CMJ (The Church's Ministry to Jewish People), which is the oldest Jewish mission organization in the world. CMJ built and continues to maintain an active congregation at historic Christ Church, the oldest Protestant Church in the Middle East.

Sean McDowell, one of the premier apologists of our generation, will lead the 2016 J-Term to Jerusalem. He will speak on issues of Christian worldview every evening of the J-Term Experience.

TPCA Growth Leads to Need for Additional Administrator and Faculty for 2015-2016

Our recent parent survey indicated that the top two reasons families chose to enroll their child in TPCA were academic quality and spiritual emphasis. God continues to bless TPCA with continued growth each year as families throughout the Indianapolis area share our vision to "prepare and equip students to reach their highest individual potential and impact the world for Christ." With all of this growth comes the need for additional faculty and administration to continue to meet the high standard of excellence in all areas for our students. Specifically, we plan to add one additional principal (K-4) to the administrative team for the 2015-2016 school year and several additional faculty members in all areas of the school.

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Schaffer, TPCA's current K-6 principal, will assume the role of middle school/junior high principal (grades 5th-8th) next year. Mr. Schaffer is excited to lead the charge of taking our middle school and junior high to the next level both academically and spiritually. Pray for him and our faculty as they partner with parents to guide our students through this period of rapid physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.

TPCA received a large number of applications for the K-4 Principal/Director of Curriculum and Instruction position, and have completed two rounds of interviews with the most highly qualified candidates. A final decision will be made very soon and communicated to our families.

God has wonderful things in store for Traders Point Christian Academy, and it is an EXCITING time in the life of our school. If you happened to miss the Future of the School address back in January, or just need a refresher on all of the MANY updates for the 2015-2016 school year that are in the works, click HERE to view the Future of the School presentation.

SGO Giving - and Receiving – Opportunity

URGENT UPDATE: Because this opportunity is becoming more well known, more Indiana donors than ever are participating. For the first time, the $7.5 million fund will likely be used up before the end of the fiscal year. Only $821,000 remains in the account. Organizations state-wide are rallying to make sure their gifts are made before this fund runs out. Therefore, we are notifying all of our donors and potential donors of the new urgency to make sure gifts are made as soon as possible before the opportunity for the 50% credit is gone. Traders Point's need is still $63,000, so it is imperative that we raise this amount as soon as possible.

Three years ago, TPCA established a scholarship fund through Sagamore Institute called the SGO. The SGO is a result of the Indiana School Tax Credit Program and is a special scholarship that helps qualifying families better afford to send their kids to the school of their choice. Traders Point Christian Academy awards SGO Scholarships to qualifying families. Then both Sagamore and Traders Point work throughout the year to raise these scholarship funds through donations. However, there are two more partners involved; the state of Indiana and you, the donor.

Every year Indiana allocates $7.5 million in tax CREDITS for SGOs to offer individuals and businesses as INCENTIVES for funding these scholarships. This means a gift to Traders Point's SGO fund entitles you to at least 50% off your gift (more savings through federal deductions if you itemize and depending on your tax bracket)!

For example, let's say you owe the state $1,500 in taxes. If you give a gift of $3,000 (double what you owe), you will receive $1,500 back in tax credit. Your out of pocket is still only $1,500, but Traders Point receives a $3,000 gift (less a 10% fee from Sagamore)! In fact, with the additional federal deduction, your gift could cost you less than $1,500!

If you have state tax liability, this opportunity is quite valuable. It gives you the ability to provide a substantial gift to the school, provides benefit regarding your tax liability, and most importantly, gifts our students with an education that will impact them for eternity!
