Sunflower and Cottonwood we will be using this weather station to determine if students have indoor or outdoor recess. Students will always have outdoor recess if the feels like temp is 20 or above. The complete district recess policy is below.
Recess Policy - If a child is at school then he/she will be expected to go outside for two 15 minute recesses as long as the temperature and/or wind chills are above 20 degrees. An exception is made if the child has a note from a doctor.
Sunflower Celebrates Veterans
Sunflower students and staff are excited about our upcoming Veterans Day activities.
We will host our patriotic Wall of Fame again this year. We would like to ask you to honor someone you know that has served or is serving our country by filling out one (or more) of our Wall of Fame forms with their name and a picture, if available. Your child can get a form from their teacher. Please have your child return these forms by Tuesday, November 7. This will give us time to properly display them for Veterans Day.
We are also hoping you will help us spread the word about our Friday, November 10 Veterans Day Celebration to anyone you know that has served or is serving our country. We will begin our morning with students, staff, and our service guests saluting the flag and other patriotic grandeur in our gym.
Afterward, our service guests will be served a continental breakfast in our multipurpose room (lunch room). Our service guest can expect to be at Sunflower from 8:00 to around 9:00.
Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to help show our support and gratitude.
We will also be asking for donations of gently used red, white, and/or blue t-shirts and material that will be made into quilts for veterans.

Community Event Info-New for 2017-18
This year community event flyers will be posted on the district's webpage instead of going home in student backpacks.
Flyers for Community Student Activities are no longer being sent home in students' backpacks. Instead, an electronic backpack system is in place. Please go to the district website at www.usd368.org to find COMMUNITY tab and click on Community Student Activities to find promotional flyers for student events and activity registrations occurring in the community. The notification of posted flyers is sent through an Infinite Campus message. If you are not currently receiving Infinite Campus messages from the school district, please contact your child's school for assistance.
