3/4 Weekly Update

General Classroom Update
You should have received a confirmation from me (Miss Fogarty) if you signed up for a conference online. Everyone should have received a paper confirmation form last week. If for some reason you child didn't bring it home, please let me know ASAP so you know what time you and your child should be at your conference.
All students need to bring in a clear glass jar with a lid for a project we will be doing in December. Please send those in by Friday, December 2.
Graded work packets will be passed out at your child's conference next week. A big thank you to Gabe's Mom, Buffy, for filing our papers every week!
Mrs. Loftus and I are also in need of disinfectant cleaning wipes as well as Purell hand sanitizer! If you can send in a container or two, we would GREATLY appreciate it!

Language Arts (Miss Fogarty)
Fourth Grade: This week the story the 4th graders have been reading is a historical fiction story about Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt. Although this is a made up story, the students have really enjoyed learning more about these great women, Washington DC and some of the social norms of that time.
Both Classes: This week the students have worked on the letters. "r,s, and j," in cursive. I love seeing them start to string words together and be excited about writing! There will not be a spelling list or reading story next week due to the short week.
Social Studies (Miss Fogarty)
Math Mrs. Loftus
Fourth Grade: The students are working on multiplying two digits by one digit. I am going to spend some time on this and extend it to using two digit by two digit. The kids are excited to do multiplication and I want them to have fun learning it, so I am going to take advantage of their excitement. I will be introducing multiplication time tests beginning the end of the month.
