Waterbury Roar
Volume 1, Issue 24; February 19th, 2021
A Roar from our Principal, Dr. Jon Pokora
Waterbury Community,
I hope everyone has stayed warm and safe with this constant inclement weather.
Next week is a different type of week.
We have rescheduled picture day for Monday, February 22nd. If you have not had a picture taken, we strongly encourage you to sign up here. We also have a crazy hair day. If your child wishes to do both, please make sure to schedule the retake early in the day so that they may have crazy hair the rest of the day.
On Tuesday, February 23rd, we will have an asynchronous day. Every student will do their work as there will not be in-person learning on this day.
On Thursday, February 25th, we will be hosting our version of Read Across America. This is an exciting day and I cannot wait to see all the readers!
Last, on Friday, February 26th, this is a DuPage County wide Institute Day. This means there is no school for kids as teachers will be in professional development.
Turning the page from next week, we also begin the third trimester. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you need any additional assistance.
Thanks and have a great day,
Dr. Jon Pokora

You will pull into the drop off lane at your designated time, and a volunteer will come to your car to get your child. PLEASE USE ZIPPER METHOD WHEN TURNING INTO PARKING LOT.
The student will then be added to one of the lines outside. For every student that comes out of the building, a student will be let in and will be placed in one of the inside lines.
The lines, both inside & outside will be 6 feet apart, and while they are in line they MUST WEAR A MASK. Masks will be taken off for the actual picture and then they must be put back on after for them to exit the building.
Once they are done, they will return back to your vehicle and you can leave the parking lot. MAKING A RIGHT OUT OF THE PARKING LOT ON RODENBURG ONLY.
PARENTS PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLES. Someone will greet you and your child at your car. You must self certify that your child does not have COVID-19. Also, before your child exits the car, a no touch thermometer check will occur on each child’s wrist to ensure the child does not have a fever.
