Our Newsletter for Families of Oakdale Elementary
A Note from Our Principal
Greetings Oakdale Families,
It feels like we missed fall this year and went straight from summer to winter! Now that we are into fall, it is very important that students dress appropriately for the weather. We will have outdoor breaks, wait outside for buses, and student drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon will remain outside unless it is 10 degrees below or colder.
I would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to our families and our staff. I know how hard each of you are working to support our Oakdale kids. I know it takes a while to get the "kinks" out of the way, but I hope by now, you are settling into a regular routine. If you are struggling, please reach out to your child's teacher, we are all working together to do what's best for our Oakdale kiddos. Again, I want to thank you for all you do! I know your work and our work is difficult right now! We are all doing the best we can.
Just a reminder although we might not be in the school building every day, school is taking place Monday-Friday each week. Students should be checking into Seesaw and working on assignments that have been posted for them to do. If students are not signing in and completing work on a daily basis, students are being marked as absent. If your student is sick and not attending school either in person or virtually, please call the attendance line at 651-702-8502 to let us know our child will be absent from school. Thank you!
Finally, please keep your child home from school if they are sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID.
We are all so happy to have kids in school each day! We miss the kids who are home distance learning, but at least we get to see them on Zoom! It's a privilege to serve the Oakdale Elementary Community! We are all working hard to make it a GRRREAT year!
Together,
Tracy Buhl, Principal
