PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
The first quarter grading period will end this Friday, September 28. Our student-led conferences are just around the corner, too. Parents and guardians should have received a letter that asked you to choose a convenient time to meet with your child's teacher and a confirmation of conference time. At conferences, parents and students will receive their report cards, discuss student achievement and data, as well as set goals for second quarter. If you have worked with children for any amount of time, you know the battles they face daily. Many of our students do not have someone cheering for them and telling them how amazing they are. This is our time to tell our Cougars that we believe in them and give them a little encouragement when necessary. Please mark your calendar for these important conferences on Tuesday, October 2 from 11:00 am to 7 pm.
Creston Intermediate Academy has an expectation and tradition that 100% of students will have a parent/teacher conference. This year, you can also visit the Book Fair to purchase novels, non-fiction books, and posters in which your student might be interested. Our book fair will be in our Media Plex. Additionally, our Creston bookstore will be open by the main entrance for you to purchase Creston spirit wear or school supplies.

SEPTEMBER IS ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH
RESEARCH SHOWS THAT ATTENDANCE IS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT.
Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. Every school day counts in a child's academic life...A missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn. The effects of lost school days build up one absence at a time on individual students. Please ensure that your child understands the importance of good school attendance and is at school every day. Every day matters! Every day provides important learning opportunities! Set your child up for success by developing these good habits now!
