Congratulations!!! A very exciting time is quickly approaching for your junior at Lago Vista High School. This unique and special tradition takes place every year on our campus. I am happy to announce the Herff Jones Class Ring Program for the class of 2016.
Your official class ring was designed so no other school or student in the world will wear this custom design. I use the word official to describe our class ring because the ring was designed by Lago Vista students and faculty members and has always been a big tradition on our campus. A tradition that stands for class unity, loyalty and most important school pride.
Herff Jones will be on campus to promote this special event on the following upcoming dates:

Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program
Kelsey Mumford and Emily Wheeler have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program!
Of the 1.5 million entrants, some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT® Selection Index scores (critical reading + mathematics + writing skills scores) qualify for recognition in theNational Merit® Scholarship Program. In September, these high scorers are notified through their schools that they have qualified as either a Commended Student or Semifinalist.
Approximately 34,000 of the high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT® receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. Commended Students are named on the basis of a nationally applied Selection Index score that may vary from year to year and is typically below the level required for participants to be named Semifinalists in their respective states. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition forNational Merit® Scholarships, some of these students do become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
These two ladies scored in the top 3.5% of PSAT takers across the nation, earning scores higher than 1.45 million students.
These two young ladies will be recognized at the LVISD Board Meeting on October 20, 2014. Congratulations!
